To Vanna: if you haven't found a Californian, among 35 million, who is "humble about personal capabilities," I am here to represent, as a Californian, that you have made an insufficiently broad (dare I say cursory?) search. May I suggest that Beverly Hills and the movie actor set is NOT a representative place to start such a search.

Arnold will be terminated at the ballot box as Californians reject True Lies II.

Speaking of True lies, notice how republicans these days are pretending not to be republicans. Doug Forrester, an extreme RW conservative is now claiming to be a moderate. MIke Bloomberg, Bush's biggest financier in 2004, is portraying himself as more liberal than Ted Kennedy.

These people are not normal. In Schwarzaneggar's case, he is as far right as they come with the exception of about 3-5 issues. (a small % of views)

Yeah! Throw the bum out! California is 'Under Siege' with high business taxes and poor wasteful government: Join Steven Segal for Governor in 2006!

When my sister in California told me that she was going to vote for Arnold, I told her she would end up very sorry. Here in Minnesota we also had a Showboat Governor, interested only in promoting himself. That's what entertainers do. Jesse "The Body" Ventura also drove a Hummer.

The idea of Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor was just too tempting for the average Californian. I'm sure every Californian who voted Arnold in would defend it as a choice for independence and new thought, for necessary iconoclasm--when it was more a giddy reckless wish to see just what would happen if the least-qualified, most entertaining rogue were elected. What delicious things might he say? What movie-script deus-ex-machina might he pull out of the hat to make us laugh and applaud? What colorful cast of sidekicks might he provide for instant identification? However it plays out, how Kubrickian is that?

Further, by this reasoning, isn't it really right and proper--and fun!--to judge someone based on the image they choose to project, the cigar, the Hummer, the cheekbones? Can't everybody be everything just by thinking it so? Isn't that what America, and especially California, is all about? You can be whoever you want to be, with the right script, surgery, style.

Arnold makes sense as the choice of people who believe that their status as Californians makes them automatically exceptional.

I never met a Californian who was in any way humble about personal capabilities. Can do anything, have done everything, will do everything--not at the moment, but recently, or soon. Sure, they could be governor. They know all about government. Could have run for office and won, too. Almost did. Would totally be a piece of cake. Sure, I speak fluent Arabic too.

The people of California have to share the blame for the state of disillusionment in their own state. They were the ones who put Gray Davis on the chopping block when the Republican stranglehold were already at work in relation to the energy issue.

But they didn't listen and instead asked for a recall and put in a musclebrained has-been movie star who still can't speak proper English. Those who put Arnold in have to share they blame. Those who didn't are the real victims of his callous blunders.

Let's hope the people in California get it right and tar and feather AH-NALD.

Sounds to me like Schwarzenegger clearly realizes that by the time these productions reach the principal photography stage, he won't BE Governor anymore, having been tossed out by voters like week-old guacamole.
