Rumsfeld Chortles Over Lack of Intelligence, Utter Cluelessness about bin Laden

Absolutely astounding. Dumbfounding. Just too much for words.

The recent comments by Secretary of Defense Donald Dimwit Rumsfeld about Osama bin Forgotten defy credulity.

The war we’re in has so little to do with this guy that we can’t even be roused to find out if the so-called target has passed away from natural causes while waiting on us to get it together enough to find him

“I think it is interesting that we haven’t heard from him for close to a year,” Rumsfeld told reporters en route to Islamabad.

“I don’t know what it means, but I suspect in any event if he is alive and functioning that he is spending a major fraction of his time trying to avoid being caught,” Rumsfeld said.

So Donnie just finds it “interesting” that bin Laden hasn’t bombed us lately. And he doesn’t know if bin Laden is dead or alive. Doesn’t sound like he cares too much, either. Is it me, or is this guy just begging for something really bad to happen?

Wait, it gets worse.

Rumsfeld’s comments echoed earlier assessments by the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, Ryan Crocker, but contradicted the assertion of al Qaeda’s deputy leader, Ayman al-Zawahri in a video interview earlier this month that bin Laden’s battle against the West was only just beginning.

Said Rumsfeld, “We just don’t know.”

That’s a big “Duh!” there, good buddy. We don’t know squat and you’re making it sound like you have as much control over that as the weather; like you’re not the frickin’ defense secretary and the war we’re in has so little to do with this guy that we can’t even be roused to find out if the so-called target has passed away from natural causes while waiting on us to get it together enough to find him.

These people are delusional – they saw Saddam Hussein as a big threat in 1997, when PNAC put together their dream list of countries to conquer. They don’t get the threat from al-Qaeda. It requires too much of the “vision thing” – something all conservatives lack.

Of course Rumsfeld doesn’t care about bin Laden, the Bush Administration made a deal with him that they would invade Iraq and leave him and Al Qaeda alone. They don’t give a damn about him anymore. There is no oil in Afganistan.

Rummy and W don’t care about UBL, because he has served their political purposes. Don’t forget that UBL was/is a CIA asset and the bin Laden-Bush family connections go way back. If they need UBL again for another ‘mission’ they’ll bring him back. Always have to have an enemy to rally against and keep the peoples in fear. See the BBC’s Power of Nightmares documentary.

Rumsfeld is insane. Clinically, pathologically, insane.

He and Cheney are the most dangerous men ever to slither through the halls of American power.

Rumsfeld is the embodiment of the phrase, “Ignorance is Bliss”. He must be on Cloud 9 right now, he’s so bloody ignorant. What an ass.

Ha .. i think the last time i heard rumsfeld mention bin laden he had said in effect that the pentagon has lost touch with osama sometime around dec. of 2001. which happens to coincide with osama’s published death certificate, not too long after he was released from an american hospital in dubae.

19 hijackers my ass. isn’t it great how osama kept norad from sending up fighters to intercept four known hijacked planes for at least two hours? must be that jedi mind trick thingy again.

Scrambling fighters would have been the normal response. They did it on multiple occassions before, like, for example, when payne stewart’s plane went off course.

Dick Cheney took authority of the strategic air command and on 9/11/2001, sent the fighters that normally patrol the eastern seaboard up toward nova scotia for war games. That’s why we had no response.

Out in the midwest, flight 93 got shot down, not brought down by Tod Beamer(Remember “Let’s Roll”?). The wreckage was scattered over miles, which makes sense only if the plane blew up in the air.

Everything is fake, from the Pat Tillman story, the Jessica Lynch “rescue”, the forgered document to prove the nuclear threat, etc.

Interesting, too, that we haven’t had an Orange Alert in over a year.
