Stupid terrorist: Today President Bush revealed that his anti-terrorist efforts had thwarted a plot to fly an airliner into a building in Los Angeles:
We now know that in October 2001, Khalid Shaykh Muhammad — the mastermind of the September the 11th attacks — had already set in motion a plan to have terrorist operatives hijack an airplane using shoe bombs to breach the cockpit door, and fly the plane into the tallest building on the West Coast. We believe the intended target was Liberty Tower in Los Angeles, California.
This makes absolutely no sense. How does a shoe bomber highjack a plane?
Wouldn’t a bomb used to “breach the cockpit door” do serious damage to the forward compartments, potentially de-stabilizing the plane?
And even if the bomb didn’t destroy the fuselage, after it explodes, the highjacker is weaponless and therefore no longer a threat.
So maybe there was another scenario — maybe the highjacker intended to use his shoe bomb as leverage to get the crew to comply with his demands:

The crew would have no reason to comply with the shoe bomber’s demands. What do they have to lose? They and the passengers are going to die in either case.
There is something missing in this story. Or the president lied.
Speaking of lying, the creepiest thing about President Bush is that we can never know for sure if he is prevaricating or merely an incompetent bungler.
In all of Los Angeles’ 500 squares miles, there is no “Liberty Tower,” which Mr. Bush identified as the target of the attack. Later in the day, the White House horse hockey brigade issued a correction: He meant the “Library Tower,” which is the former name of the city’s tallest building, now known as the US Bank Building.
Okay. Sounds straightforward. He bungled the name as he is wont to do. But isn’t his choice of words — “liberty” versus “library” — just too cute by half?
But was it a typical Bush malapropism — he just mangled “li-berry” for “liberty?” Or was it a subtle lie that enabled the president to utter a political keyword? As I’ve said before, I almost wish I believed he lied all the time, which would indicate cleverness, but I suspect he’s just the most incompetent person who has ever sat in the Big Chair.
Lastly, this is not the first plot we have heard of that targeted this building, so don’t expect anyone in Los Angeles to get too excited about the announcement today.
I’m wondering if the most significant thing about this little piece of propangda that they put out today is the timing — so was Bush spying on people inside the U.S. from day one? Also, the CNN story I read on this had a sole source — George Walker Bush. The MSM is reaching a new low if they don’t confirm with even one non-Oval Office source.
Not just that… Why the hell would they target the U.S. Bank building when there are so many more prominent targets- 3rd Street Promenade, Hollywood & Highland, Farmer’s Market, etc. which would hurt a lot more.
I’ve lived in L.A. for three years and I have yet to meet anyone who’s even set foot in that building. For that matter, who the hell ever goes downtown unless they have to?
I guess they figuered we believed the box cutter story,that we would not figure out that an explosion on board a plane would drop it out of the sky!!!

When I heard G.W. had put out this weird story (if it happened just after 9′11, or was a part of the 9′11 plot, why only come out with it now? Oh, yes - they didn’t want to scare us) I wondered about the timing of his coming out with the story, but then I read somewhere that Scooter Libby is saying Cheney and other high up administration officials encouraged him to leak classified info to reporters to help push the effort to attack Iraq, and then Bush’s story made total sense.
It’s obvious what the guy does after blowing open the cockpit door with a shoe bomb. He uses his OTHER shoe as a weapon.
Ummm, but surely he’d have to hold the first shoe bomb in place against the door lock, which is going to blow his hand off at the very least. So then he has the problem of lighting the lace on the other shoe, and those child-proof lighters need two hands to get them to work, if you’re not familiar with them (extremist Moslems don’t smoke, of course, so would have no familiarity with lighters).
I know, the first shoe is a bomb. The second shoe is smelly from sweat and athlete’s foot and the overpowering stench knocks the pilot out.
It all makes sense. Really.
A reporter at the White House briefing asked Snotty McLellen if a piece of the story was missing and of course he spewed more of his regular gobbldy-gook. Also even Wolf Blitzer CNN’s Situation Room sounded skeptical. Maybe the tide has finally turned.
One simply can’t believe anything that comes out of Bushy Boy’s mouth. It’s all just a pack of lies. This one is so obviously fake. You know if Bush had really done anything like this he would not have waited to brag about it. That’s just the little man’s fake cowboy style.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — A Malaysian recruited by al-Qaida to pilot a plane in a second wave of Sept. 11-style attacks on the United States pulled out after observing the carnage of the 2001 assaults, Southeast Asian officials said Friday.
President Bush on Thursday outlined details of an alleged plot to hijack an airliner and fly it into a skyscraper in Los Angeles. He said cooperation between Washington and several Asian countries helped expose it.
I think I’ve figured this out.
Bush was watching the movie “Independence Day” and turned off the VCR when Jeff Gannon Guckert came into his bedroom. At the time Bush turned off the VCR, the building was about to be blown up. So Bush thinks that my pressing the off button, he actually foiled a terrorist plot.
Look at the photo - one would have to be a very, very skilled pilot in order to maneuver around the other buildings to hit the tower low enough to cause devastating damage.
Here’s a shoe bomb for Bush, kick his lying ass out of office and into prison whiere he belongs! Same goes for Cheney!
What about the fact that a plane flying into LA from Asia has very little fuel left in it? This makes for a much reduced bang.
From Sep2001 to Feb2006 makes exactly 5 years. It’s interesting that Bush wants us to believe that his alleged actions of supposedly thwarting a foreign attack upon a domestic metropolitan building are significant, yet over a 5-year period, Bush has never bothered to learn the name of the building.

The terrorist was clearly going to blow up one shoe to open the cockpit, and then throw his other show at the pilot. It makes total sense.

There is a far more glaring problem with Bush’s story.
Back in October of 2001 there were no reinforced cockpit doors on commercial airliners. No need for a shoe bomb to breach the cockpit door.
That’s the problem with making up a story based on present day standards & applying it to past tense fiction based off the Richard Reid story.
Sad that the media couldn’t put that little bit together & question Bush’s tall story.
I hope he keeps up with this incredible lies, even stupid people are beginning to awaken!
The sad thing is 40% of “his base” will praise him, and give up 200 years of democracy- all for a story so full of holes that even under the threat of maybe having to be sworn in, Alberto Gonzales would burst into giggles and wet his Gannon Under-roos . . .

What if the shoe-bomb was constructed to have just enough eplosives to breach the cabin door? What if the plan was stupid, but dangerous anyway? What if you were on the plane? But one can only hope?

Umm…..thats why the terrorists LIE…they dont tell you your gonna die either way if you dont let them into the cockpit they LIE and promise you will live if you comply with their demands…..and if you dont comply, They arent backyard terrorists they are professionals and for sure would have weapons of some kind to PURSUADE you into opening the door….perhaps grabbing a small child and holding a weapon to their throat, would you open the door then? or watch them slay the child in front of you, and if their are many of them they can just grab whoever or stab someone….If they want in that cockpit they will find a way…like fuck take this page off the internet.
