Much as my fellow Pensito Reviewers will probably disagree with me, I have to pitch in with those who say Democrats are overreaching on this censuring and impeaching stuff. The plain, simple reality is that Republicans control both houses, and cows will climb trees before they go along with such moves.
Our best bet is to retake the Senate and House this year. When we’re in the catbird seat, look out Bush. Until then, we’re just venting, and venting is what the weak and powerless do. Don’t waste energy going after Bush. I’m not saying to give Bush a free pass, but that we should use his every misdeed as evidence to convince our fellow voters to throw the bums out. After we do that, we can have a little talk with the Boy King.

I agree with your comments about the futility of trying to impeach the deserter. But, I didagree with you about the dems doing anything abut it even if they do win control of the senate and the house. If they do anything at all it will be a tiny little slap on the wrist and they will allow all the laws that have been passed by the nazis to remain.
We no lonnger have a two party country. There is only one.
This font is so small that I can’t evne start to read what I am writing. Is there some way to enlarge it?? I have text size to the largest and your site doesn’t change.
The problem is that the voting machines are rigged in many states and Bushies can spy on anyone. (Democrat stategies.)And second, the Republicans are changing laws to adhere to illegal activities by the Bush regime. God help us all…..
For a start, the Demmocrats can’t impeach Bush. They don’t have the votes. Any serious move to impeach can only come when the GOP comes to the conclusion that Bush will take the entire party down with him. That being the case, the Democrats best strategy is to: 1) continue making the case against Bush directly to the American; 2) position thme to take advantage of his fall.
Already, Bush would seem to have not only NO caotails —but, rather, the opposite effect. It raises the question: why should the Democrats be expected to do the GOP”s dirty work —even if thye could?
So, we should quietly roll over and play dead for these FASCIST BASTARDS?—SCREW THAT—I AM GOING TO FIGHT THEM AS LONG AS I DRAW BREATH!
Opposing a corrupt American administration whose party controls all three branches of governemnt, and has modulated the mainstream press to cowtow to its abuse and derivations of truth, is a daunting task that far surpasses the huge anti-Nizon movement of the seventies regarding his impeachment and prosecution. Leave it to the Republicans to cover all their tracks, while the rest of us watch Nero fiddle before our burning Rome. At what point is the headline of the New York Times gonna say “America in Crisis”? If our voting tabulators have indeed been corrupted then what access do we have to change courses anyway? The Democrats in power are, needless to say, less activist then their present day consituency. If in fact they cannot regain control of one branch of legislature in light of all that has passed in the last years then I think this is no longer America. Perhaps only moderate and principled Republicans (if they exist) can save the downward slip of our democracy.
On the 2004 Election in Indiana I went to vote for John Kerry. We had touch screen voting machines. It kept popping up Bush even though I was touching the screen for Kerry. I don’t know if it counted 4 votes for Bush and 1 for Kerry or how it counted the vote or votes. no one can tell me the answer to this. As long as no one investigates this corruption my vote doesn’t count.
Does anyone really think Bush/Rove/Dick will ever let the Dems take the house? Then they would hold the chairmenships with subpoena power! That’s why we have privatized elections (Diebold). Florida was a tie at best in 2000 and a solid victory for Bush in 2004. Impossible! We need Jimmy Carter and the UN overseeing our elections, and that won’t happen. If the Dems do, by a miracle, win, the Militia movement will probably spring back up to intimadate them and us. Remember the 1990’s . We had our own armed terror camps in the good old USA. That’s one reason we didn’t focus on Al Qaida. We had our own terrorists to deal with( McVie ). We need votes with receipts! If 7-11 can do it, Uncle Sam can. I pray every night, because if we don’t change direction real soon things are going to get really bad. We can afford to lose Iraq, but we can’t afford another 1929.That’s what the Congress put us on the verge of, thanks to their Norquistian “starve the beast” philosophy. Grover is the #1 fiscal advisor at the White House, and he’s directly to blame for the Katrina failure. “Drown the Gov’t in the tub”
Lord hear our prayer in November!
I happened across this interview with Bill Clinton that he gave to an Australian TV station.
As President, when did you first become aware of the extent of power that was in your hands?
BILL CLINTON: I think I was aware of it. I think the more important question is when did I become aware of the limits of the power. There are great powers in the hands of the president but you have to understand that there’s a price to exercising them, and you have to understand what the limits are as well. Harry Truman once said that…sometimes he believed his job was largely about persuading people to do what they should do without his having to ask them in the first place.
ANDREW DENTON: What was the moment where you actually slammed up against the wall of the limits of power?
BILL CLINTON: I think when I realised that…I couldn’t break the Republican filibuster. And as long as Bob Dole had 41 Senators out of 100, he could stop anything I wanted to do in the Congress except pass the Budget. And they killed…a program to provide a short-term boost to the economy. And then they killed all health care reform.

If the democrats showed some spine and got together they could actually influence what is going on in the senate. We have 44 dem senators, it’s time they showed some nerve.
