The time has come to wag the dog:
The U.N. Security Council gave Iran 30 days to clear up suspicions that it is seeking nuclear weapons, and key members turned their focus on what to do if Iran refuses to suspend uranium enrichment and allow more intrusive inspections…
After three weeks of intense negotiations, the 15-member Security Council approved a statement Wednesday asking the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, to report back in 30 days on Iran’s compliance with demands to stop enriching uranium.
The Bush Administration has zero credibility in most of the world and among a majority of Americans. The timing of this is too perfect. Bombing will start around the first of May when campaigning is ramping up. It will be interesting to see if our attacks on Iran have the effect on the electorate that the GOP intends, or whether the bombing only rallies the 25 percent who make up their base of Dittoheads and sheeple who are addicted to terror.

Just like a Republican to paint targets on the backs of our troops during a civil war. Now they want the troops to face incoming missiles, a well-trained and equipped military force of 500,000 men just across the border, and the threat of causing such upheaval that, if the Iraqis and Iranians joined forces they could destroy 130,000 Americans and bring untold grief from radiation fallout spreading throughout the Middle East. Our highly vaunted air power will not be aid troops commingled with the enemy on the ground, which could lead to the most disastrous military defeat in American history.
Iran also has better-than-Exocet grade missiles with which they can destroy as many slow-moving oil barges as they wish, and most Navy ships as well. AND they will have the high ground from which to fire them.
But dear god, let’s not let facts get in the way – there’s a lot more difference between Iraq and Iran than the last letters in their names.
