Is Bush’s Marriage in Trouble?

Last week the New York Times had an above-the-fold, front-page article that seemed to suggest that one of the Clintons is being unfaithful. Following the NYT’s lead, now the Globe has a cover story speculating about trouble in the Bush marriage.

It makes sense. George Bush is a spoiled, weak aristocrat who’s used to lying with impunity and getting his way no matter what. It must be frustrating for him now that America has tuned him out. It would be perfectly in character for him to start drinking again and losing his temper at the drop of the hat.

Of course, like the New York Times article this is nothing but rank speculation and gossip. I wonder if Chris Matthews will spend two hours on this story like he did on the Clintons.

Here is Media Matter’s overview of the Globe article:

BUSH MARRIAGE BREAKUP!

EXCLUSIVE!

SEPARATE LIVES IN THE WHITE HOUSE

* Nasty fights
* Booze problems
* Laura urges counseling

On Pages 20 and 21, the Globe announces “Bush and Laura’s 29-year marriage FALLS APART,” adding: “They barely talk to each other,” “[t]hey argue when they do speak,” and “[s]he’s afraid he’ll hit the bottle.” Quotes in the article attributed to “a longtime friend” include the assertion that “[w]hen the cameras aren’t on, they have nothing to do with one another,” and that “[f]or all practical purposes, they’ve broken up.” The “family friend” continues: “After their last fight over booze, they just stopped talking — period.” The Globe’s report that Laura Bush is concerned that President Bush may “hit the bottle” is reminiscent of a September 21, 2005, National Enquirer article about “Bush’s booze crisis,” which reported: “Faced with the biggest crisis of his political life, President Bush has hit the bottle again.”

Well, Dubya’s dad carried on a decade-long extramarital affair with a woman named Jennifer Fitzgerald, since he couldn’t stand to be around Bar.

Can you imagine being married to this simple-minded, egotistical worm? No wonder Laura is zoned out on Xanax most of the time…..

The Bushes will stay together, even though their marriage is a sham, because thats what good Republicans do.

The Globe got the main story line right, but all of the facts wrong. George wants to go home to Crawford and quit the presidency, but Laura won’t let him. She’s the one drinking like a fish. She told him the girls weren’t his and that really hurt, and he’d like to throw her out on her ear, but he’s not popular enough for that now.

See, I heard that Bush and Cheney were found together in bed by Laura, who threatened to take it to the press if they didn’t let her film it.

So many stories floating around…we’ll never know the truth until Laura is cracked out on VH1’s Behind the Music talking about her oral escapades with Colin Powell and how Bush wanted the snowball.

Stop the lies. Have class and dignity like Americas President. Geez.
p.s. lets see if this gets posted - doubt it b/c it supports our president

“Class and dignity” is NOT something the president has, depsite the claims of the cute little post by laurie. Lies, however, are definitely something VERY familiar to this presidency.

Oh so making up bull about a marriage is classy? Hate the terroist not America! You Liberals are a joke and an embarrasement to this Country and around the world. Thanks for making us look like ingrates.

Lies from this Presidency??? OMG LOL…”I did not have sex with the Woman” quote from President Clinton.

Wrong, Pam. It is Bush who has dragged America’s reputation into the sewers. Sending brave American men and women to die or get maimed in a war based on nothing more than His Royal Highness’ aristocratic whim is the greatest act of treason and hatred of America in our history.

George Bush is a dim-witted, strutting little popinjay and it is rightwingers who worship him — the Clinton haters — who have enabled him to besmirch our great nation.

You’re all delusional. You are under the control of a blood-thirsty cult. Seek help.

It’s been rumored for years tha condi rice is his little sugar baby

“I did not have sex with that woman”: you’ve got a great sense of priorities, Pam.

Telling a lie in hopes of keeping an extramarital affair secret: that’s so-o-o much more important than “fixing the facts to fit the policy”–and cutting veterans’ benefits, while throwing untold billions in tax cuts at the super-wealthy (who don’t need it–but can YOU get in to see a doctor?)

Over 2000 Americans have died in combat. We don’t even know the number of U.S. soldiers who died from other causes (as always happens in the confusion of war), or how many have been permanently disabled: physically, emotionally or both. Maybe it would help if America could afford to give our troops armor for their bodies and vehicles?

Long before anybody had heard of smoking guns turning into mushroom clouds, Bush snapped, “Fuck Saddam; we’re taking him out.” This war was planned before Dubya took the oath of office.

Bush deceived Americans into supporting a war against Iraq, a country which had absolutely no connection with 9/11. Most of the hijackers were Saudis; none were Iraqi. It’s as if after Pearl Harbor, FDR had declared war against Fiji.

Saddam Hussein–a brutal dictator to whom the U.S. sold weapons of mass destruction prior to the invasion of Kuwait, because we liked Iraq more than Iran–is one of Osama bin Laden’s greatest enemies. Osama is a fundamentalist Muslim; Saddam is a secular Arab who pretended to be devout but only when it was convenient. They hate each other.

But who cares? Them A-Rabs is all alike, right? Meanwhile, Bush flip-flops from blustering about how we’re gonna smoke Osama out of his hole, to saying a few months later, “I just don’t think about him anymore.”

Oh Jean..give it up..Our President would not seek that low to have an affair. Please stop the lies it’s not nice to do that to another human.
p.s. someone i know told me that randi rhodes and the globe would creat such bull. she’s an intern with Air America.

The Truth
There are several quotes.
Most of them come during a time in the Clinton administration when decisions were being made about action against Saddam Hussein and amid concerns about weapons of mass destruction.

We’ll take them one at a time.

“One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them.
That is our bottom line.”
President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998-Truth!
This was a quote from President Clinton during a presentation at the Pentagon defending a decision to conduct military strikes against Iraq.

“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear.
We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.”
President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998-Truth!
Bill Clinton went to the Pentagon on this occasion to be briefed by top military officials about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction.
His remarks followed that briefing.
Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime He presents a
particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation … And now he is miscalculating America’s response to his
continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction
So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real …”
Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan.23.2003-Truth!
In a speech to Georgetown University

Hi Charles Wallace- You ask if i can “see a Doctor”…Yes, I can, I am fortunate to get free benefits thanks to you Americans. I just arrived from Mexico.

Go for it, Pam. You are right on and these pathetic Clintonistas are just trying to pin the nasty on GWB to ease their pain for losing two or three elections in a row……LOL

George (6) Walker (6) Bush JR (6)= 666
God will send plagues, death, and famine on Babylon, and the kings “who have committed fornication with her” will be sad to see her burn. Revelations 18:8-9

Hahaha GW’s day is coming. We all had our little foibles and mistakes but the research is hotter on the Chimp’s. May you sweat buckets Bush.

God, Laura Bush is one ugly broad. look at that face. It would kill a bird in midair.

Pam, you really ARE delusional! How can you continue to support this pathetic failure, George Bush, as leader of our country? He’s an empty sock puppet and has failed at every single task he’s ever attempted. Every single one.

Name ONE positive thing Bu$h has done for the U.S. I dare you.

There’s a big glass of Kool-Aid waiting for you, Pam!

To Pam:
Almost all of our presidents have had atrocious foreign policies, and will continue to have them as long as our government worries more about our Corporation’s bottom lines more than humanitarian interests.

What does bad foreign policy have to do with “Bush” lies as opposed to “Clinton” lies? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. As long as the rich elite are in charge of our country the rich will keep getting richer and the poor will get even poorer, no matter what country you’re from. The elite will continue to use wedge issues such as abortion, immigration, and gay marriage to continue to keep us “little guys” fighting while they’ve got their hands in our back pockets. Hopefully most people will realize this before our vote doesn’t count any more (which it probably already doesn’t), our middle class disappears, and the rest of the world would like to see us blown off the face of the Earth. WAKE UP, THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES OUT THERE!!!

I’m just tired of all you complaining Liberals…always down on our Country…blame us for everything…if it wasn’t for American and President Bush me and my family wouldn’t get the free health benefits we get…my sister was able to have 2 babies on american tax payers. So, I support the President. What other country would allow this free ride?? Wake Up America. LOL

I come for business visit from my country and don’t like President Bush for bombing good Middle East People but why is it wrong if he has more woman? I like Presient Clinton and felt bad that the American people broadcast that he got many blow jobs from Monica. I’m surprised about President Bush but happy you told the world. My People thank you for joint us good muslims in bashing your American President.

Thanks for the laughs folks.
We need them to forget for a few moments the horrors happening everywhere on the monkeyboys’ watch.

Please do not waste time on trollers like Pam…

She likes Dubya. She gets free cool-aid.

Yes, I do like the American President…I don’t like the terroist who started all this chaos. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Just who are the real terrorist? Is it the Iraqi people who simply defended their country when invaded by its enemy or the ones that are still to be smoke out from their hole who now the Pres called irrelevant bunch? The Bush administration contends that Americans are better off and more secure without Saddam in power, i respecfully disagree. This administration created more enemies and American haters with its policy towards Iraq when more innocent women and children killed by some frustrated, stressed US soldiers who were sent to war without a plan and no end in sight. These soldiers just wanna go home and spend time with their families! Let them Go Home George!

Pam, does that mean that you’re ashamed of our founding fathers for questioning England? What if the terrorists that started this mess was your government? Watch the information that people have gathered at these links:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5137581991288263801&q=loose

http://www.elchulo.net/files/pentagon.swf

The only people that should be ashamed of themselves are people who don’t dare question their government, kind of like the Germans in WWII.

Thank You for shared laughs. I faxed this to my people in Iraq and they like to humilulate your american president like you do. Please give us more. HA HA we laugh at america with you.

Pam/Muhammad: If you’re going to make fake comments, do it under a different IP address. You know, like a hotmail account or something?

Comment by Trish | Jun. 7, 2006, 8:44 pm |

you idiots, can’t you see that pam/muhammed isn’t even on the level as a right-wing troller? if she were, she wouldn’t claim to be “from Mexico” and refer to a sister’s childbirths here proudly as “a free ride”. she’s not from mexico; she probably hates people from mexico.

(who pick her vegetables, wash her restaurant dishes, and do all the other menial work her relatives think they’re above doing.)

this troller isn’t any of those people. just ignore it!

Here are the three magic troll-be-gone questions for Pam/Muhammed. No troll yet has ever stuck around to answer them because, well, they can’t — without admitting that their messiah George W. Bush is a fraud:

Pam/Muhammed, Iraq was not a terrorist threat to the United States until your Dear Leader foolishly took us in there.

Why did he do it? Answer these three questions honestly (if you can — I know that people under the sway of cults have trouble discerning fiction from reality):

1. Yes or No: If the number one export of Iraq were olive oil rather than petroleum oil, would we be there today?

2. Did we go there to establish a foothold for democracy among the Arabs? Yes? Then wouldn’t it have been less costly in blood and treasure simply to convince the Kuwaitis to hold elections? After all, we literally saved their asses from Saddam in 1992. Becoming a beacon for democracy in the Middle East would seem to be the very least they could do in return.

3. In the run-up to the war, did Bush and his team lie when they said Saddam had weapons of mass destruction?

No? Well, then the only other option is that they screwed up - and did so, as the vice president might say, big time.

In fact, this outrageously incompetent miscalculation has led to over 100,000 casualities, including almost 3,000 valiant U.S. service members and the fatalities of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis. It will likely cost us upwards of a trillion dollars - and we’re not even halfway done yet. The Bush misadventure in Iraq will undoubtedly go down as the most monumentally inept war effort ever undertaken. (If they were Democrats the Bush team would be pursued by the media and the GOP for gross and homicidal official negligence.)

So, which is it, Pam/Muhammed, did they lie or were they merely criminally incompetent?

We await your answer.

(Just kidding! We know that Bush worshippers can’t abide the sunlight of reality, so you’ll change the topic to another pre-packaged screed you heard on the Limbaugh show. We understand that you are intellectually unable to answer these three simple questions. Again — seek help.)

Gee, I’ll see your “I didn’t have sexual relations with that woman” and raise you one “Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction.” Now, which lie has caused death? Which lie has damaged the world’s opinion of America? Which lie is the most harmful?

I’m sorry to all you Bush haters…you must be mourning over Al-Zarzawi’s death. Don’t worry he’ll be taken care of by the virgins. Once again - sorry.

My people laugh that your american president got blow jobs from young girl. ever since then the world has been laughing at you american people and american presidents.

ALLAH

There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.

Frank Zappa

I am so surprised that this is even being discussed as a real story! How many times have NORMAL people peeped at the Globe while waiting in line at the grocery store and LAUGHED because their stories are so outrageous! If ONE other reliable news outlet was reporting this MAYBE you could even speak about it.. But all this is stupid!
Liberals get over it! You lost the house and the White House and they are not going back anytime soon! LMAO!

You Bush worshippers have no sense of irony, much less a sense of humor. The entire Clinton impeachment had no more validity or credibility than the stories reported in the World Weekly News or the Globe.

Reporting on this story from the Globe is our way of MOCKING you.

Now do you get it??
