Jon Ponder is obviously an ignorant left wing bully who isnt satisfied with his own life and pathetic attempt at an 'opinion website' that only displays his immaturity and ignorance in politics. It seems that Ponder only wishes he knew both Bob Corker and Zach Wamp so he could start spreading truth about them, instead of spreading rumors that seem to have come from a 4th grader. Not only has Ponder not done his research but he has blatantly made rumors up about Congressman Wamp. News flash Jon Ponder... you can't go around accusing men like Congressman Wamp, of having affairs. It's obvious that you are nothing but a 'basher'. Instead of hitting Wamp and Corker on real issues, you hit them on their height, their family, and issues that you no nothing about. Grow up.

Napoleon complex?? If the reference was to race or gender rather than to height, the offense would be readily apparent. And this on what is called a progressive site?? You owe all short people-and in fact all people concerned with human rights-a genuine apology.

Your Chattanooga woman does not know enough about Harold Ford, Jr. He has been my undistinguished congressman for the past 10 years and has done nothing substantial. He said at a University of Memphis Law School Alumni dinner last November talking about Dubya: "I love this president." He is rumored to be likely to join the GOP. I'm a liberal and I'm voting for Bob Corker who is not a bad guy. I lived through Watergate and I remember it was the decent Repubs who helped us get rid of Nixon. Maybe history will repeat itself. We need to demolish the Ford machine and Jr. is a great place to start. Were you aware he will not support the Democratic winner of the primary for his House seat? Just call him Joe Loserman II.

Ironically enough, it is states like Tennessee who are most hurt by right wing policies, especially on the economic level. I think it's a matter of time but you still have to stand for something.

For Ford to be against an estate tax which only applies to less than 1% of all estates is baffling and will cost him votes.

As for "prayer" there's a misconception. There's a distinction btw. govt imposed prayer + individuals having the right to pray in public. The first is a problem, the second is not.

I agree with Violet that this was an excellent presentation, and the inclusion of photos was great!

I would also like to suggest Peter Freyne in Vermont, he's very insightful and doggedly alert to Rethug hijinks in Vermont. His comments on the entire spectrum of Vermont politics is well versed from his experience covering the Green Mountain State's halls of political power. And you'll love his continuing expose of the latest daff rich republican to try to buy his way into office.

As a footnote I'd like to remind every rational being in this country to stand up to ABC false Sinclair-like propoganda piece proporting that the Clinton administration was responsible for 9-11. I ask that you write them letting them know you will not be buffaloed into believing their bunk and that you will boycott any of their programing and write to as many of their advertisers as possible, threatening and then carrying through a boycott of that advertiser's product.

You need to have courage to face the plutocratic theo-fascism perpetrated upon our once great nation by charlatans, meglomaniacs, and mobster-like rethugs. I will admit that I didn't have that courage until James Jeffords stood up four years ago and said the Republican Party had become too extreme to the right (fascist, folks, right means fascist, if you don't understand fascism, look it up in the freakin' dictionary). I guess my ephiphany about his leaving the Republican Party that it exposed a precept that I didn't realize I was carrying. I somehow thought the great men of our country lived two centuries ago, but then came to realize I had talked to a truly decent and modest man, who bravely defended the decent and modest intentions that are the supposed tenets of our nation.

Now that I think about it, I've also had a chance to be in the audience at college in Montana when Democratic Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield came to speak. I feel real fortunate have seen him at the height of his honorable term as senator. Now Montana has bogus Burns as its senator, talk about hitting bottom, sheesh.

Sorry I digressed folks, but I didn't want you to think we were slackin' up here in the Green MTS, we take our constitutional responsibilities very seriously.

Interesting. Great take on Tennessee Politics. It is true we need more people elected into office with a "D" by their name, but some, like Lincoln Davis, have a D by their names and still vote with the most right wing of the R's, inspite of our interests and popular issues, like stem cell research funding.

Also, saddened to read Jesse Helm's is still with us. I thought he went a long time ago.

What about a like-minded Tarheel junkie next?
