- 1820 – Women’s rights pioneer Susan B. Anthony was born.

Wow, a tribute on the world wide web! Thanks Jon! I don’t mind if you mention my year – it was 1959, and it was the day before Castro was sworn in as prime minister of Cuba. Oh yeah, and then as now it was the Chinese year of the pig (boar). Good times.
