When Condoleeza Rice first surfaced in the public view, I thought she bore a remarkable physical resemblance to Antoinette Frank, the New Orleans police officer charged and convicted of killing her partner and 3 restaurant employees.

I could whiff this and point out that Olbermann does a segment on "Idol" a couple of times a week, but I'll 'fess up: While I am a hater of the power ballad, I live with a fan of "American Idol." (He also watches "The Apprentice" so this post was a double shout-out.) Here's how we've worked it out. I watch the first week or two of "Idol" during which the bizarre bad acts are eliminated. After that, I watch PBS, C-SPAN or "Girlfriends" on one of our three other TVs while Page watches "Idol." At the end of the season, I'll tune back in for the final "heat" but have yet to see a single singer on the show whose record I would buy, as we used to say.

But don't get the wrong idea. I'm not proud of it but I know Britney's general whereabouts most of the time and am usually up on who Paris is doing. I'm conversant on the Anna Nicole story, and agree with The Enquirer that the reason the DNA tests have been delayed is because Anna's son Danny is her daughter Dannielynn's father. (Anna had no boundaries.)

I live in West Hollywood where this sort of info is "local news," and I'm writing a book on scandals that covers what you might call "classic" scandals from the golden age of behaving badly up through Lindsey Lohan's latest shenanigans.

So yes, it's true. I know who Sanjaya is, and I'm betting on Melinda Doolittle to win.

She's a complete bust as any type of policitian, leader or even a human being.

Which means she'll probably be the next president.
