As Christians and people of Eastern Orthodox faiths observe their holiest day this Sunday, one of their number has a few questions about what they think it means to follow Christ.
Christian commentator Roland Martin speaks for many.
When did it come to the point that being a Christian meant only caring about two issues, abortion and homosexuality?
Roland Martin: “I’ve grown tired of people who pimp God”Ask the nonreligious what being a Christian today means, and based on what we see and read, it’s a good bet they will say that followers of Jesus Christ are preoccupied with those two points.
Poverty? Whatever. Homelessness? An afterthought. A widening gap between the have and have-nots? Immaterial. Divorce? The divorce rate of Christians mirrors the national average, so that’s no big deal.
The point is that being a Christian should be about more than abortion and homosexuality, and it’s high time that those not considered a part of the religious right expose the hypocrisy of our brothers and sisters in Christianity and take back the faith.
Martin puts his finger on one of the reasons I and so many others have all but turned our backs on faith, and can’t be pushed into an organized religious service with a Mack truck.
…it’s troubling to listen to “Christian radio” and hear the kind of hate spewing out of the mouths of my brothers and sisters in the faith.
In fact, I’ve grown tired of people who pimp God. That’s right; we have a litany of individuals today who are holy, holy, holy, sing hallelujah, talk about how they love the Lord, but when it’s time to walk the walk, somehow the spirit evaporates.
I mean no disrespect to the people closing their businesses to celebrate Good Friday, or those joining the throngs at church on Easter Sunday. But the joy of religion is long since past for me. And until it becomes more about quietly setting the highest example for others to follow and less about judgement and scorn, it will probably remain that way.

I’m puzzled by the first sentence in this post. Christians and people of the Eastern Orthodox Faiths. Do you mean that Othodox Christians are not Christian. At least find out about Orthodoxy and Orthodox thought I’m not really offended but just wonder what it is you meant by this
You’re absolutely right that they’re all Christians. Very often, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Etc. Orthodox folks follow a slightly different calendar from the Classic Christian Ordinaire types. This year, Easter’s the same day for everybody. That’s all I meant.
Religion is a prison for the mind. You do not need any religion to believe in god. In fact I would imagine that god disproves of religions as they are inherently evil.
Easter is nothing but a Satanic fraud. The Christ was murdered in the middle of the week. [Wednesday] [SO THE BIBLE SAYS} That would make him arise on Saturday morning. What has rabbits and eggs to do with the death of Christ? Nothing but a way to get gullible so-called Christians to worship a false god. Christians are supposed to observe THE “PASSOVER” and nothing else. {DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME} The passover is supposed to be observed 14 days past the spring eqinox which is supposed to be the new year and it was in the Christs day. April one is supposed to be on the spring equinox. It was at one time called ABIB. The passover this year was on April 2nd. Sorry you missed it .
I’m with you Trish. Has anyone ever heard a Pastor lead a prayer FOR our enemies. Do we really turn the other cheek. Do we in fact work on the BEAM in our own eye. I could go on but I think I’ve made my point. Too much lip service not enough walk.
have you heard of communitarians? I suggest you find out about this term..hegelian dialectic….the whole church is deceived I believe…not that I cant be but in this instance I am not…purpose driven crapola..isnt it strange that the new agers have their foot and mouth in the door of the church and not a peep from the shepherds? they welcome it cause it works to put butts in the pews and money in the coffers..forget what God the Father says…..
I find it rather disturbing to see the way religion has diversified itself to incorporate the current “trends” in theological and “mythological” beliefs that are what most citizens consider the “right” way to believe and do things..
I have watched the advent of P.C, become the normalcy, seen where the slightest disagreement becomes “heresy”, felt the sting of a culture lost in petty selfish “self indulgent” things who go to church on a weekend day and say that they are “faithful” and God fearing people……such a waste of ones life…
God means for us to learn a lesson (each one of us) individually, to try and understand what is necessary for us to understand, and the different “cultures” we have today are not based upon anything other then a different way of “speaking” which was of course due to mans reach too far, too fast, and too soon in ancient past at Babylon..
Why is it so hard to simply realize that you cannot change man at all? why is it so difficult to learn to leave man alone is he so chooses to be left alone, and why is it so difficult to always leave a door open for those that seek to truly look for companionship in related views?..
Mans free will is not even subjugated by God himself (you know, the one that “gave” us the free will in the first place?) so what makes one think that they can control or change another’s mind or way of doing things? ….
I could go on, but then again, I feel I am just speaking to a vacuum of needlessness where ones opinion is drowned out by the desire of so few..
I always support God and his son, man however, is never to be trusted ..
James
Everybody seems to be missing the point that the author is making with this. It’s not about New Agers, the value of religion, when Christ was really crucified or anything like that. It’s about what has happened to Christianity in the last few years and how it has no resembelance for the ideal the Jesus sacrificed himself for nearly 2000 years ago. and for what? So a handful of people can feel superior to everyone else. You know, alot of people still wear t-shirts that say “WWJD”, or “What Would Jesus Do. I know exactly what he would do – He’d weep.
…it’s troubling to listen to “Christian radio†and hear the kind of hate spewing out of the mouths of my brothers and sisters in the faith.
They’re not Christians.
By now it should be obvious to all how our corporate churches have been infiltrated by those hate Christ’s message. I can no longer attend the Catholic Church as it has become corrupted like all institutions but I still be
lieve in God and His Word.
Anyone with internet access knows by now that our New World Order masters worship Lucifer so why are we loath to condemn that? Because their is no risk in condemning Christianity while you would have to withstand ridicule if you speak a forbidden truth.
If there is no God can there be hope? Given the concentration of power and technology in the hands of the globalist cabal willing to kill billions as some sort of sacrifice to their god I can’t see a just conclusion for the innocent without God.
I agree with Eric…most of Easter is a pagan practice, nothing to do with Christianity. The mixing of the two practices has really confused a lot of people it seems. Simple math shows that Christ crucified on Friday, and arose on Sunday morning, is not three days and three nights dead/buried, as reported in the bible. From what I perceive, he was crucified just before a Jewish holy day (passover)…which was on a Wednesday…so three days and three nights after that fact…makes him arisen on Saturday evening. My opinion, most religion is nothing more than BIG BUSINESS, with just as many sinners, cheats, liars, and thieves.
If you want to correct, technically, the term “Christian believers” is more accurate, because the number of real Christians in the world is practically nil. I’ve never known anyone who actually practices the teachings of Jesus of is really a Christian an any substantial sense. But they all do believe that they are Christians, so, whenever I’m referring to them, I always call them Christian believers. Sometimes I call them “Jesus believers,” but they really don’t like that. It classifies them correctly though.
who is in a position to condemn? only christ. christ died for us, christ rose for us. christ reigns in power for us. christ heals us. if a man or woman is in christ, they probably don’t listen to these folks, because they are too bust doing what they are compelled by christ to do. the remnant is always only a portion of the whole that appears to be the people of god. this group will pass, fall aside, be defeated. the remnant faithful will remain.
This has been very interesting reading. Lately I have been saying that I have no quarrel with anything Jesus said or did. And now I can honestly say that I believe he rose from the dead according to the scriptures. It makes sense to me that God would communicate to us through man and in particular his son, Jesus.
My Korean/Chinese wife asked me if we should go to church at her Korean church tomorrow and I said yes because the churchgoers there
are nice, respectable people who do not spend a lot of time criticizing and judging each other, in fact, my wife is a masseusse and so are other members of the church… I believe that Jesus came for the sinners, and especially those of us who know it. I think Jesus is going to return soon and he’s gonna be mad as hell at a lot of people for what they do in his name and against his name and eternal soveignty. May his Kingdom Come soon!
Lets see how Christian is Mr Buah…He just killed 110.000 in Afghanistan plus 620.000 in Iraq Plus near 30.000 killed by suicide nombers plus 3000 declared americans plus 20.000 not declared americans in Iraq so near 800.000 and he wants to complete this with 80.000 more in the next War created witn Iran.
I think that is really a very Good Christian soldiers in the words of the Devil but not in the words of Jesus Christ. This in only a Photograph of Mr Bush state of mind. Thank you.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
You are so correct in your statements. If any of us had a clue of what the hunble righteuos one was like when he walked amongst us we would all see the same. Religion has clouded our vision. The Righteous One was murdered by the religious/political establishment of his time and yet to this day they can’t find his grave. Spirituality has nothing to do with religion. Religion is from the mind of man. True spirituality and knowlege is a gift given to the ones who seek. Knock and the door will be opened. It is a gift from the original giver of the spirit of knowledge and wisdom.
We await his return.
Christiians by the millions in the world. How many walk in his foot steps ? A few handful maybe
Save me from the praise the lord crowd.I am made in image of God and look how the christians treat me and others.Thats why I love dogs they are the only christlike creatures
I know despite the fact they never read the bible.Woof woof praise the DOG
Nice clay. The words you speak sounds like something the one we follow would say. Stay strong and continue to seek him. When he returns it won’t be in anger, it will be in judgement.
Roland, you, are a moron. Poverty and homelessness are not sins. Abortion which is murder and homosexuality are abominable sins against God for which unrepentent sinners go to eternal Hell. You haven’t a clue. Is this a condemnation? No! It is an admonishment. Look it up.
those lwho believe in me shall not perish, but have eveerlasting life. bottome line is, you have to believe, there is no straddling lthe fence, which is the root of the problem. just ones opinion
those who believe in me shall not perish, but have everlasting life. bottome line is, you have to believe, there is no straddling lthe fence, which is the root of the problem. just ones opinion
Congratulations, guess you have seen it all now. Well, I have seen a few things too. I have seen what Jesus does for people who don’t know all about religion, like you.
Religion should be banned from every community in the world. Their greed and thirst for power is sickening. Trying to wake up the dummies from the deep abyss is the problem. Religion is a spirit killer and keeps people from taking responsibility of their own lives.
amazing. I read through all the comments and I can see that there are many of us that are here who see the truth. A lot of profound and excellent comments that lets me know that even though we don’t see those of true faith that we walk amongst daily, when I come here and comment I can see that there are many of us who see the truth. Thank you my brothers.
O. I forgot. I wont’t be in church on easter. I’ll will give priase to the righteous one from my living room on my knees.
Easter has lost its meaning. Xtians only care about persecuting gays and non-xtians.
The age of Christ has passed. You, the fake xtians have crucified him again.
GAY AND LESBIAN RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS!
GAIA
The Bible’s message isn’t the scam business that exists today. The message is simply this: You can kill the messenger, but not the message.
Clay, you have almost got that right, Jesus came for sinners who REPENT.
As he allows us to make our own choices, Jesus walked away from sinners who wanted to continue in their sin, he let them chose to do that and face the consequences.
But the ones he railed against most were Pharisees, or religious people who said they knew God, but yet were happy to crucify God when he came, and kill anyone who really loved God.
I think Jesus’ whole message was
1) Love God
2) don’t be a Pharisee, love people.
I do have to say, what is sinful about being a masseuse? Unless your wife is “that kind” of masseuse, which I am sure she isn’t. Why would anyone look down on a regular masseuse? They are skilled medical professionals.
I will not be in church for “Easter” either. I left off going to church when it no longer was relevant to me. I have had my own personal spiritual experience. These personal experiences have led me to a belief in selflessness, service and unconditional love. Many small local churches still reflect these same values, God bless them. But, the big box churches and television preachers do not. The consequences on christianity has been devastating. Do not give up on your personal spirituality or your relationship with God because of the conduct of others. The power of love remains as strong as always.
I have never seen so much hate as that which is inflected in the name of god. The wars, the put downs, the venom spewed by so called believers in Christ. Organized religion is nothing more than a control of the masses to do what other men want them to do. If you believe then pray to the almighty and pray that the leaders of religious organizations come to their senses and stop demoralizing and causing conflict in the world.
Jesus surely addressed the money changers in the temple with anger.
We have been made in God’s image, and the anger emotion is very complex yet a fact of life. Executing judgement can be born of anger at a wrong needing to be corrected to right. It’s my belief that Jesus made it clear that this is a world without end, and that means that man cannot destroy the earth, because God won’t allow it.
However, like the money changers in the temple, the modern systems
of tyranny, and their complexity can be something Jesus would be slightly angered by, leading to his process of judgement. Enough will be enough. Thank God.
Ephesians 5:7-16
We are all self-proclaimed, believers, non-believers or agnostics. “To believe anything as truth that can not be proven is evil”! (faith). It doesn’t matter what we believe, WHAT IS, is what matters. That is why Iam agnostic.
A lack of conscience is the root of all evil. Those without empathy towards all their fellow man are evil. Everything we do and think is either moral or immoral, godly or satanic, good or evil, positive or negative…. get it. I suggest everyone make their souls as positive as possible (If souls exist) so when death comes, you will go to heaven and not hell. It is all shades of white and black.
It is hard to grow a conscience in a sick and abusive society. Chimps raise chimps. You can’t teach what you don’t know. I suggest meditation and good weed.
Happy Risen Savior Day! The Way has been made. The Lamb has paid the ransom. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah shall return. All those who hear His voice will answer His Call. The field is ripe unto Harvest. The Faithful shall be gathered into the Holy City of God. Repent! Be sorry for lying, stealing, fornicating, coveting, murdering the fruit of the womb which is the gift of children, the abomination of man laying with man and woman with woman. For the poor and hungry there will be feasting and homes. For the sad and weary there will be comfort and strength. Those who mourn will be reunited with believing loved ones. Faithful pets also, for Eden will be restored tenfold. Rejoice!
Just a little note for our “true believers” out there. The new testament was altered many times – edited, if you will – to serve the changing politidal and doctrinal needs of the early church.
Biblical research has irrefutably proven this, but, oddly enuf, the folks in the pews are so much smarter, and know the scholars are full of it.
Who killed Jesus? “The Jews”, you say? He was the rightful King of the Jews, by both his mother’s lineage, and his father’s. The people loved him. why else would they follow him out to hillsides, etc., for Happy Meals? They LOVED him, because he so radiated love to them. The Romans perhaps had an interest in shutting him up, and police brutality being what it is… But, who really wanted him dead? Who couldn’t stand the message of empowerment, of hope, of God as Father of all of us (not just the lame-ass religious fanatics, but ALL OF US!!!)??? Well, the wealthy felt at risk, yes, but who else? WHO KILLED JESUS? The clergy, boys and girls.
Read The Book! And — Happy Ether!
Those curious to know how blatantly false the whole issue is, check out the brand new essay “The Easter Issue” at:
http://www.mobipocket.com/en/eBooks/BookDetails.asp?BookID=46875. For centuries they make us believe that 2 x 2 = 5. And we do… =(
To Robert who said: “I’ve never known anyone who actually practices the teachings of Jesus of is really a Christian an any substantial sense.”
Keep looking Robert, there ARE Christians on earth. They would be doing two things that Jesus said would be an identifying “mark” for true christians.
1) John 13:35 “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (King Jame Version); Christians would not go to war or get involved with political issues with their “brother christians” in other nations. In the world wars catholics killed catholics and protestants killed protestants.
2) Matthew 28:19,20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.(King Jame Version);
There is only one group who has gone to prison rather than take up arms against their brothers, and only one group who is fulfilling Jesus “command” to make desciples worldwide, in 236 countries. They probably come to your door several times a year if not more frequently. They ask for no money for what they do and practice what they preach. They are not perfect but they truely have the love for each other and mankind, that Jesus said would be an identifying “mark”. Go see for yourself. Don’t be so closed minded and send them away the next time they knock on your door.
Religion..like everything else in America…is simply…BANKRUPT AND AWAITING FORECLOSURE!!
Christianity has nothing to do with Easter, but with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Homosexuality, and abortion are sinful…but so is swindling money in the form of tithes (etc etc) from gullible followers. So is a man lusting over a woman, so are a plethora of sins that the so-called church ignores.
Further, although gay marriages are an abomination, so are adulterous relationships.
Christians should never support sin of any type; and yet, a Christian must realize that this world (not the earth, but the world system) is ruled by its master, Satan.
When Hagee or some other preacher speaks about homosexuality, and yet sends your children off to war, its time to start questioning what Christianity is really about.
Is Jesus son of god or son of man? Make up your mind. No, the truth is he is a Prophet, a messenger of God , a Messiah who is sent by God to us humankind to guide us to Him.
Can you just think about it??? God is the father and Mary the human created by God is God’s consort/wife??? This is nonsense!!!
The Christianity of today is not what Jesus taught. It is what the product of whom you call St.Paul who claimed to be visited by a light from the sky and heard the voice of God… This is a brazen lie. After St.Paul hijacked the message of Jesus and tarnished it with his of proclamations, we have the concept of Trinity the triune God which Jesus never taught! These facts are things already known by honest scholars of religion who could see beyond the lies. The thing is this is also already known by any good Muslim!
Our mass media is hostile to Christianity, and that is why people have a one dimensional, negative view. But if you did go to Church, you’d get the same Zionist brainwashing that comes out of the TV – worship the Jews, worship Israel. The problem is the thinkers of the West have been lured into the sterile multicult and the unthinking herd is left in the church, under the thumb of the highly organized Zionists. The Zionists are even this minute converting The Last Supper into a celebration of the Jewish nation. The thinkers need to return! The Christian Church is a traditional power structure that you have chosen to abandon to wander in the woods and play children’s games.
I agree with Roland Martin. I would like to add “what about the bombing of innocent people? i.e. Iraq and other countries. How can Bush tell us he is Christian when he is ordering the horrible deaths of thousands, hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children?
I no longer consider myself a Christian, I have not attended church in years, and have no plans to in the future.
If being a Christian is supporting killing people, and making up new rules such as; homosexuality is a sin. Then I do not care to have anything to do with this crowd.
And we all know this isn’t about religion or loving God or Jesus, its about $$, PERIOD!
I truley believe these groups are actually the devil in disguise. I call them the “Christian Devil Worhipers”.
Greetings Folks,
Jesus is very reminisant of the first Hippy. If you want to live like Jesus, the lifestyle and philosophy of hippies will appeal most to you. Much is done to malign the hippies because frankly, corporate/political elites do not want another nation of Hippies. Face it, it was the hippies who played a major roll in the end of the Viet Nam war.
Over the internet there are many message boards that address and appeal to the hippy culture. It has been heavily infiltrated by agent provacataurs from the CIA, DoD, ect. and ad nauseum, but they’re not difficult to pick out.
Peace, Love and Respect
Religions are creations of man, subject to all of the foibles of the human condition.
Ignore these false prophets and find the god inside you and you will find true peace
Hate-filled beliefs, coupled with self-worship (in the form of a belief in a divinely ordained American Exceptionalism), and love of bloodshed could only be considered mainstream Christianity in the U.S.
Anywhere else, these “Christians” would be considered dangerous extremists.
The Messiah came to push this species in a new direction. WE called him. It was done. The true meaning of “free will” is something that we can discover by following the word of Jesus (and his brothers (”brothers”, here, is to be taken in a very concrete, but also very Christian way)). We are not completely free because we apprehend facts of a moral sort. We disagree about their nature, but I suspect that they are quite broad. They vary, depending upon our situation, depending even upon the constraints which bind our neighbors. They make sense inherently, I think. Homosexuality as a moral issue is chimera. As long as we are Honest about ourselves, with one another, it need not present a problem. Abortion is a nasty business, but it’s tragedy pales in comparison to the societies (all of them) that make it a reasonable thing to do. If we want an end to abortion, say, then we are called upon to make a world in which such an act would be…unecessary. A better world. No judgement, no money, no heaven, no hell…a world now unknown. Something we are lead to. Something new…
If I’ve asked this once I’ve asked it 100 times and as of yet not got a straight answer. Most Christians (Churches) seem to back Bush. As I see it if they back Bush they back the war and if they back the war they back the Murder of innocent people. Didn’t Jesus teach Love thy Neighbor, Turn the other cheek, Do unto others, and lets not forget the 10 Commandments Tho shall not kill/murder so how can they call themselves Christens and support Bush? Anyone have a answer for me? I’ve run this by many including preachers. All they can bring up there are many wars in the bible. That God wiped out Sodom & Gamora, etc. Well does that mean the bible contradicts itself?
Hey Laurie…you go girl!
Good job.
True christianity is a personal relationship between you and Christ only. Not what a man who stands behind a pulpit and teaches you man made doctrine that is taught to him from a seminary who wants him to teach his congregation what they feel is doctrine and the only true way of life. Ask yourself why is the church so divided today? You have Methodist, Assembly of God different Catholic denominations etc. Christ warned us about the churches and how they were wrong. They don’t teach true christianity
Hi Jim, you ask good questions. One of the greatest lies ever perpetrated is that the entire bible is inerrant, i.e., all 66 books are God inspired. Once that bit of propaganda is instilled in people, nullifying Jesus’teachings is easy.
Additionally, most American religious organizations are nonprofit corporations created by the government. The technical designation 501C-3 comes from the IRS tax code. Woe to the hireling who bites the hand that feeds him. He has to play ball with the government who provides his tax-free status.
Please don’t let the deceivers and the deceived of this world prevent you from seeking the real Jesus. You can seek Him by reading and following His words in the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Peace to you.
Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than going to a garage makes you a mechanic. It is that personal relationship with Him that transforms the individual.
maybe jesus was gay – he hung around with a dozen men, never married, and never recommended marriage while he was alive – so figure it out – love your neighbor as yourself and love your God with all your heart – those are the two commandments he spoke of – neither of which is practiced in any church in Amerika… let me know if you know of one.
I know we are all entitled to our opinions but to villifiy Christian believers and Christian ministers is wrong. We are told to compare ourselves with Christ and not one another as we all fall and fail. Even ministers and priests are human beings with faults and sins, as all humans are, but there are genuine people who try to live the Christian life, they are not perfect either, nor claim to be. The only one who was perfect was Jesus himself. You can argue about what day Easter should be on, what does it matter that is splitting hairs, the fact remains that Jesus did rise from the dead, if you believe the scriptures, and if you genuinely want to change your life
and find the inner peace that he promised through the gift of the Holy Spirit then, through faith,
repentence and acceptence of the free gift of eternal life, you too can ‘know’ what true Christianity really means. The difference between a sinner and a saint[ a believer] is, that the saint knows he is a sinner and needs forgiveness but the unbeliever believes in his own ’self’ righteousness and thinks he can get into heaven by his own efforts. It is not by doing but by believing, [faith], that justifies us. Doing [good works]is the fruit of our faith and should follow true Christianity.

I am a practicing Catholic, but I was very disturbed whem my church support Bush’s just because he is against abortion. I do not believein abortion, eithr, however their support of anunjust war, killing of thousands of americans and Iraqi’s is incosistent. How can one be pro life and be in favor of senseless slaugher of innocents. The curches should have been outraged at this prospect. Instead the religious right acted as a rallying call for the war. My daugaher married a moslem, perhaps I have had to view things with a broader perspective. I refer to the “Pro-life” war mongerers and Murdering Pro Lifers.
I live in Colorado Springs, what is now considered the “Epicenter” of these globalist (Read; Zionist/CIA/Vatican)covert religious organizatios, NORAD and massive military bases. It doesn’t take long to see a very twisted and dark connection to these huge wealthy churches and the business of war here. You don’t critize Bush in this town or Pax Americana. I consider these religious Zionist/Jesuit fronts as the “New Fourth Reich” or world government religious arm. I’ve worked for many years in film and TV broadcasting and I can tell you that anyone who has been in the business for awhile knows that the TBN channel is a blatant CIA/Mossad front and they are all 5O1C3 government (IRS) controlled mouth pieces. Richard Perl,(2004) in a press conference at the Pentagon (Pentagram) made it very clear that they control the religious right and the corporate media as well as Hollywood. The mind control of these “Sheeple” is a staged event that perpetuates the “False left-right paradigm machination to divide and control. The great news is that now alot of these people are starting to see the lies and are waking-up.
As usual a simple text is purposefully used to rain hate down upon the masses. Forget the “inaccuracies” forget the “behaviors” of the sinners that don’t follow the bible properly. Forget the drama you like to cause in the name of the bible. Remember the one thing that the bible was supposed to be about:Love. If you’re too hardheaded, hardhearted, “smart”, or cynical then you’ve already missed the point…
Forgiven.
Can I pray for my enemy?
Can I love other sinners despite their sin nature (which I also possess)?
He who knoweth not love knoweth not
God, for God IS LOVE.
Hmm, God is LOVE.
I can buy that with my heart
and soul.
I pray to live that way
each day.
I would like to wish you all
an enlightened Easter this year.
Who should the followers of Jesus of Nazareth follow?
Jesus plainly teaches that He is to be his followers only Teacher and Leader, Master and Lord. Listen to Him:
“But do not be called Teacher (Rabbi); for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Messiah. But the greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:8-12
One Teacher. One Leader. All brothers. Be a servant. Is this what is represented in the christian or messianic organization? No. But the deceit comes in the form of, “Oh, but God told us through Paul that there are leaders in between Jesus and his followers”. For those not blinded by their religious dogma, that would obviously make those who believe that statement followers of Paul, since Paul directly contradicts Jesus on this most important matter.
Another favorite comment is, “Oh but my pastor is a great servant of all”. Really? First of all, who is he serving if he disobeys the Real Jesus of Nazareth? When Jesus says his followers will have “One Shepherd/Pastor” that does NOT mean two.
“I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become ONE flock with ONE shepherd”. John 10:16
How many shepherds will the followers of Jesus have? Jesus says ONE. Paul, and the religion founded on his writings, christianity, say “millions”. Who are you going to follow?
If you follow Jesus, how could you attend an organization which openly has teachers, leaders and shepherds/pastors? How could you, in good conscience, listen to the Words of your Master be disobeyed under the guise of actually representing him? How could you participate in the deceiving of others? “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments”. John 14:15 says the Master.
Jesus means what He says. Watching His commands be nullified by those who claim to represent Him, is to be deceived.
The Real Jesus of Nazareth never said it would be easy or pleasant to follow Him. The only Way we will have His joy and peace in our heart, is to have Him, His Words and His voice ONLY as our sole spiritual authority. To disobey Him or watch others do the same is not compatible with Jesus’ plain commands and teachings.
This one major contradiciton would lead the sincere follower of Jesus to not participatre in the christian church.
The problem with all of us who profess to be Christian is that we frequently forget that we are to follow the teachings of Christ. There are many important points in those teachings, but I believe the most important are John 3:16, the Golden Rule and “Judge not lest ye be not judged.” Most of us at least try to remember the first, most forget and don’t understand the second and virtually all in organized religion fail horribly with the third.
Christians must re-learn that even though we are Christian, we are ALL sinners. The world if full of sinners (and full fledged satanists) who try to push their sin off onto someone else. Homosexuality is a sin, but so are many of the things each of us do every day. Sin is Sin, one is not better or worse than the other. We need to practice real Christianity, not a satanic version, and realize that Christ spent most of his time among sinners, trying to teach them to do better, not shunning and condeming them.
Judgement day is going to be rough on most of us, but especially those who call themselves Christian, but whose lives are filled with hate instead of love for our fellow man.
P.S. If Bush is a true Christian, then woe unto us all.
I stopped going to church after our shameful shock and awe of Iraq. I believe God spoke loudly and clearly February 8th when over 8 million people of conscience poured out into the streets and pleaded that we not do this. This we did, and this we would’ve done even if it would’ve required tanks in the streets of America to enable it.
I’m not going to church this Easter, as well as not joining with family, because I don’t silently condone torture nor can I shut up about it. I’m supposed to zip my lip and not offend the morality of other family members who “love my country”. Excuse me. My morality is offended, much more deeply than those offended by my protests could ever fathom because of their shallowness. Abu Grahib was the 9-11 event to our morality. Where is the outrage?
This president is not ashamed or embarrassed to use tortured confessions. This country is not ashamed or embarrassed to use tortured confessions. Need I say more? I don’t suspect there is any questioning of this in the churches of this country. Rather, there is pray for our troops. And just what are our troops doing?
My faith is not wrapped in a flag. My conscience is not deadened to silently condone torture. And I can’t fellowship with those whose consciences are that dead… nor with those who sing happy hymns while being totally oblivious to what we are doing, what we’ve become.
Abortion and homosexuality are not end issues of themselves, but are symbols of a society gone mad. These issues are important to Christians because they herald the comming moral depravity, the result of which is a collapse of love, replacing it with pathological self-interest.
Abortion, the killing of innocents, is done out of convenience. To say otherwise is to be wrong. What is the end of killing for convenience? Did we not do the same to the native Americans found here? Do we not condemn such behavior when husbands kill their wives fo adultry or less, in many cultures today? How is this different than abortion.
Homosexuality, to the many of us who know such people, will know that this does not bring liberation or happiness. Look to the various ‘gay’ newspapers found in homosexual communities. Look at the advertisments… advertising is a window into deeper levels of understanding… you will find gyms, body waxing, alcohol abuse clinics, domestic abuse clinics, bars, porn, prostitutes.
These are the things of those who are self-possessed, a service-to-self mentality that has no room for larger issues. Those of us who oppose homosexuality are opposed to the extraordinary trivilization of our culture, the psychological baggage that homosexuals drag with them.
Earlier a poster named Frank said: “have you heard of communitarians? I suggest you find out about this term..hegelian dialectic”
I suggest you do as well, we’ve ALL been duped. Surely you can understand why I was shocked to see these terms mentioned here, as most people have no idea what they are. I see someone has decided to take the red pill, congratulations!
Here we are back to abortion and homosexuality. These are but two of oh so many sins. Many so-called Christians can’t get off these two overly politicized wrongs that they condone adulty if it is Republican adulty, so long as that repub. opposses abortion and talks against homosexuality, although maybe a closet homosexual himself (or herself(. It is even okay if they are child molesters or murder adults (of course children are killed in war, too), or visit prostitutes (oh yeah, it is the prostitute who is the sinner), or allow children to starve, or slavery in the Sudan, or many, many other sinful acts by our government and its officials. They don’t want to hear about the shortcomings of this resident in the White House i.e. his National Guard non-duty, his alcohol abuse, his cocaine abuse, the rumors of many other things including possible murder, and (with at least some good evidence, his own homosexual experiences). These can be ignored and pushed aside, because he professes to be a Christian. Sin is Sin, and although we all can be forgiven for our many, many sins, we at least must try to live our lives the way God would like us to live. This does not include lying to our nation to bring us to war, and many other things done by this fool and his followers that appear more satanic than Christian.
Christ warned us about false prophets and those who would twist our beliefs into something evil. That is exactly what has happened and we let it! Don’t blame Christianity blame those adherents who are too engrossed in their own hates and desires to understand or care about the destruction of their religion. A similar thing is happening with Islam and we have criticized them vociferously for it, for not caring enough about their beliefs to fight against fanatacism to protect them. Well people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones! Wake up Christians, and retake your religion from the legions of mountebanks trying to destroy it. You know who they are, their friends of the Great Decider.
God desires that no one be lost, that all be saved. What has the Father not done in the past 2000 years to win over civilization? What patience He has shown during this past century as we have unleashed two world wars, the evil of abortion, and countless other abominations while at the same time mocking Christianity!
And so, it is the season of choosing: the harvest is here. Pope John Paul II was more precise:
We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel and the anti-Gospel. —Addressed to the American Bishops two years before he was elected pope; Reprinted November 9, 1978, issue of The Wall Street Journal.
Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked man, You shall surely die; and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his wicked conduct so that he may live: that wicked man shall die for his sin, but I will hold you responsible for his death. (Ezekiel 3:18)
I think we can see that organised religion is and has always been a force, like organised government is a force. What better way to start wars to gain power, control and wealth than to manipulate the masses, appealing to their collective Christian, Muslim, Jewish, conscience over righteous indignations perpetrated by the intended victim, i.e., “lets go steal their oil because they are evil muslims and hate christians” History is filled with such accounts of debauchery, all in the name of God. I don’t think you need churches to tell you homosexuality or abortion is wrong. Government or organised religions don’t really care, they want you to think they do so you will continue giving your allegiance (money, support) to help them grow. Real Christians will follow Christs simple teachings of forgiveness, not judging, self awareness, kindness and charity. Remember Christ condemned those that do it all for show! You don’t need Ishtar(easter) to celebrate Christ’s resurrection from the grave when it can be celebrated by an act of kindness from the heart.
Easter was designated on Sunday because most churches found it hard to get people to church on a Saturday night. The actualy Sabbath day is Saturday, and the poster who mentioned Passover as the correct celebration was right.
As for the poster…I agree wholeheartedly. But until more true Christians start demanding that so-called spiritual leaders and politicians stop pimping the church and it’s congregants…and start holding them accountable, the madness will continue. God can only do FOR us what he can do THROUGH us.
Fun with words.
If Christianity is the religion of Christ, what is the religion of anti-christ?
Come on now, what religion is anti-christ? It isn’t the muslims, every time JC’s name is mentioned in the Qu’ran, it is followed by, “praise be upon him”.
Answer, Judaism is the true religion of the “anti-christ”.
Hmmmmm.
“Judaism is the true religion of the “anti-christ”. Truer words I don’t know. Having just been ripped off over $125,000 from a jewish lawyer who has yet to finish the case, the crook.
The pharisees condemned Christ to death. Some Christians can be very stupid about Zionism.
Don’t forget that Christ was a Jew, not a Christian, which didn’t exist in his lifetime. We cannot assume that all Jews are bad any more than that all Moslems, Hindus or Christians are bad. They are simply different and some members of any group bastardize the true meanings and beliefs of the group.
We Christians have taken pagan holidays and added our own religious beliefs to them, often overshadowing the Christian religious beliefs (Christmas and Easter) with those pagan or secular overtones, (Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny). There were probably reasons for joining them together at the time, but we have allowed the positive to frequently be overcome and eliminated by the non-Christian elements, including the financial aspects of the holiday.
Our nation is going the way of the Roman Empire, with the government leaders becoming more interested in accumulating power and wealth than in doing what is right for the people of our nation.
We are a diverse and multicultural nation, with many and various religions and beliefs. We must be tolerant of each other, allow religious freedom, as guaranteed by our Constitution and stop trying to slam our personal beliefs down the throat of everyone else, even other “Christians”.
In the past we have been able to seperate our religious doctrine from government policy. However, now it seems that we are pushing the limits to see who can be more religious and less tolerant, even to the point of undermining that Constitution.
If we are to remain a free and independent nation, protected by the govenment under the Constitution and The Bill of Rights, we must re-establih tolerance, religious freedom including (seperation of church and state) and individual liberty both by our government and within each of us.
We cannot allow the rights and freedoms that many of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines have given their lives to protect to be pushed aside and ignored by zealots who care nothing for their sacrifice.
The time has come to take our nation back, to remove those who attempt to be dictators and force our elected officials to follow the law, the Constitution and the will of the people.
“Don’t forget that Christ was a Jew, not a Christian”.
I believe you mean to say JC was born a jew, and at some point, decided to denounce his “jewishness” and begin his own religion.
We should not assume anyone is good or bad (caste the first stone, etc) however, the teachings within the torah and talmud offer up some very disturbing concepts, and speaks of Christ in a soup of boiling waste and excrement. I dont read “love thy neighbour” in the translation.
Nevermind, the real truth is leaking out now, and the dam is about to burst. Humanity will stand a better chance of saving itself when we reveal all these lies, be they religious, economic or political.
It is time for you self-proclaimed believers to grow up. Quit being delusional and become real.
1.No savior is coming back to save your unworthy asses.
2.Getting billions in tax breaks is not being persecuted.
3.If god didn’t want man to think, man wouldn’t have a brain. Use it or lose it. Obviously you guys never had one. Iam sorry you were brainwashed as children. Your minds were molested.
4.You are allergic to the truth. You force your children to lie.
5.The aborted fetuses will be the lucky ones with nuclear weapons, overpopulation and global warming.
6. If you were truly opposed to abortion like I, a liberal hippy, you would support the forced spaying and neutering of humanes.
7.Gays are either created genetically (by god) or environmentally by lunatics. Obviously the lunatics are the fundamentalists. Quit creating people you hate.
8.The american republican party is a party united in hate. Hate moslems, communists, liberals, homosexuals, intellectuals, environmentalists and other races and religions…
Love thy neighbor is godly, hating thy neighbor is satanic. One nation under god. Are you a Bushie or an American. Torture is ungodly and unamerican.
I have read the comments here with great interest. Some have said that there are no examples of true Christianity left.
I read a beautiful story the other about the Amish. Awhile back a man went into a school in Amish country and shot five little girls and then killed himself. Know what the Amish did? They forgave him. They even reached out to his family in love and support, knowing that they were hurting too. Most of our society would be screaming for blood, but did follow the example of Jesus when he said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”.
Jesus was still a Jew at his death and participated in Jewish rites and religious holidays (i.e. Passover) up to his death. He proclaimed new thoughts for his flock, but no where did he proclaim a new religion. Christanity did not start for several years after his death (by Peter and Paul). He also condemed the Pharises (sp) for allowing the temple to be used as a business and defiled, rather than the holy temple that it was.
He was killed because of the fears of the Jewish (loosely used) powers that be who felt threatened by him because of his popularity with the people and the use of the term “King of the Jews”. The Romans probably would have let him live had they been able to prevent the Jewish leaders from going nuts (and of course, because it was God’s plan of Salvation that Christ had to die on the cross).
Likewise, we cannot condem all Jews (2000 years later even) for killing Jesus (as the Nazis tried to do). If so we would also have to critize God, whose plan it was all along.
It is just too bad we can’t seem to allow people of other faiths and beliefs to have the same freedon to worship that we demand for our own religion, and for which our Constitution gurantees. Who are we to condem others, when we certainly do not follow our own beliefs faithfully.
We criticize and condem when we should be tolerant (as was Christ) unless the actions of others break the laws of man (and of God) making it necessary for the legal system (which also must be blind to religious, racial and ethnic differences)to act.
We also certainly should keep the government out of our bedrooms and homes (unless there is definite evidence of child or elder abuse, or forced sexual slavery). We don’t need someone (ususlly just as guilty of similar deeds) watching what consenting adults do within their homes.
Too many people in my family fit the model of Christian mentioned in this article. It is too rediculous to fathom, how intelligent people could waste their time worrying about these two issues. However, there is a reason. Its a divisive issue used to make greedy people feel holy. They mask their voracious appetite for wealth with their disdain for homosexuals and abortion clinics. Its too bad they couldnt pick an issue that was less offensive to such a variety of people. Why not condemn Nazis and Gnomes?
These are hot button issues used to simply rally their followers. The last thing the Republicans really want is to outlaw abortions. Their followers would then look to economic issues and the repugs would never win on that.
As for homosexuals, it appears there are many in the closet in the Rep. party (more likely to be open in the Democratic party). The only real problem with this is that many of the most vocal homophobes often turn out to be homosexual themselves. They just don’t want anybody else to know it. We would probably be surprised
at who some of these people are (or maybe not if the rumors are true). Just remember that those who throw stones frequently are just as guilty (or more so) than the one being hit by the stone. They simply want to cover up their own transgressions.
Time to face the truth. America adopted Jewish culture many years ago to the point that status, power and accumulation of wealth is America’s official religion. The very things our Saviour eschewed we embrace in his name. What hypocrites we all are. Our Christian Churches have become a place to meet other like minded brokers, indoctrinate the kids and placate our conscience. The dollar sign has replaced the cross. Like children, we argue over the meaning of Easter when we put money in a plastic egg to hide and Christmas when we charge up the card to buy gifts. Even Government got in on our National Religion giving themselves billions of dollars to declare their failed wars on drugs, terrorism, education and poverty, filling prisons, weighing in on homosexuality and abortion, along the way destroying families and indebting the nation. They knew we would support them, after all, in the name of Christian morality how can one not support such causes? No wonder government leaders, bankers and industrial leaders are mostly Jewish, its where their God hangs out. I think its time we see us for what what most of us really are, Jews in Christians clothing.
I overwhelmingly agree with John Kassak’s critique. Too many “Christians” are enamored by this “War on Terror.” They are so blind, they don’t see the hypocrisy of it. I consider myself a Christian, but, unlike many, I refuse to be a sheep, to follow in the bandwagon, because I have a conscience. Wake up people…We as a society, whether “Christian,” or “Muslim,” or “Jewish,” are bankrupt morally, and almost bankrupt spiritually. God gave each one of us our own mind, let us use this gift! When Jesus Christ comes to earth again, we’ll be rushing to withdraw from our moral and spiritual banks like there’s no tomorrow – only to find nothing in there!
“Christian” Politics?
Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations – teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you…” Matthew 28:19-20
Many, if not most, christian religious leaders are saying that “the church” should spend it’s time and resources doing things other than loving one another and making disciples of all nations. Their people are told we need to use political means to advance the Kingdom of God. Their people are told they are to fight against moral evil and to fight to preserve our “rights”. Their people are told to keep their minds on the world’s kingdoms (governments) and battles and to use the world’s means (political power) to fight those battles.
This is another false gospel, leading people away from God. Jesus says, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight…”. John 18:36 Many religious organization leaders say, “Jesus’ kingdom is manifest in this world through political means, so get fighting”.
Who do you believe, Jesus or the voices of those prominent religious leaders?
Something to ponder about:
Suppose that someone observed Jesus two thousand years ago, and he left this planet, or he went to sleep for two thousand years and returned today to look for the followers of Jesus, who would he find? who would he recognize? Christians? I conclude with just this food for thought: the Bible says very clearly that Jesus used to fast. Do Christians fast? Muslims fast; it is obligatory one month every year. The Bible says that Jesus prayed by touching his forehead to the ground. Do Christians pray in this manner? Muslims do. It is characteristic of their prayer and no one on earth is probably ignorant of that fact.
According to Jesus, he told his disciples to greet one another with the expression, “Peace be with you.” Do the Christians do that? Muslims do, universally, whether they speak Arabic or not. The greeting for one another is Assalamu’ alaikum (Peace be with you).
The brother of Jesus in the Book of James, stated that no man should suggest what he is about to do or highlight his plans for the next ew days in anyway without adding the phrase “if God wills” Do not say “I will go here and there, do this and that” without adding the phrase “if God wills.” Do Christians do that? Muslims do, whether they speak Arabic or not. If they so much as suggest they are going downtown to pick up some groceries, they will add “Insha Allah”, which in Arabic means, “If God wills.”
I found the Baha’i Faith to have solutions to the many problems the older religions have fallen into. After all, as the Bible tells us, “For everything there is a season,” which naturally must include religion itself. Religious communities don’t stay the same, last forever, or maintain their original purity or unity. Over time, they become mired in and divided over matters of theology and ritual practices and eventually become sources of contention and even violence. But what if God has sent the renewal of Religion, the solution to this problem? Baha’is believe He has. I would invite you all to investigate this most recent of God’s Revelations (it is not the final Revelation–God’s “hands” are always outstretched) and see if you find, as I did, that it has a modern and compelling resonance for today. You can find more at http://www.bahai.org.
Religion is anything that you practice and “worship”.
GOD so loved the world that HE gave Himself (JESUS).
JESUS IS GOD
Anybody can be “religious”.
Where are the TRUE believers ?
I had faith at one time and went to church, but now doubt has set in. What I have learned in the bible and what I see going on amongst christians don’t match up! I pray for a word from God and I get a nightmare instead! I try to help a family member and I get ripped off! friends and their family members are all messed up and their prayers are not getting answered! I know there is a God, and Jesus said don’t ask for a sign, but I need a sign now! Lord hear my prayer and take away my doubt! amen. in the mean time, Peace on Earth people!
Michael, you will not find the truth in any religious building. The source of our faith and salvation is in the words of Jesus of Nazareth as He Himself taught.
So, how do we get to know the heavenly Father and His Son?
The only source to get to know the Father is the scripture, and the Father’s greatest, clearest revealing of Himself is through His Son, Jesus. Jesus’ Words are found in the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. For who else has said, “For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. “I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore, the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me. John 12:49-50
And again, Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.” John 8:28
And who testified in return about the Son? The Father Himself spoke from heaven and said, “While He was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!” Matthew 17:5
Of who else can these things be said? Of David or Solomon? Of Peter or Paul? No, of only one, the Father’s chosen Messiah, His beloved Son. Are Moses words Jesus’ Words? Are Isaiah’s words Jesus’ Words? The simple answer to these questions is NO. Jesus’ Words are Jesus’ Words. Of His Words, he says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, by MY words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:35
Letting a man deceive you on this matter includes believing the clergyman/hireling when he tells you that this other man or men’s words are equal to Jesus’ Words. When the clergymen start with, “well, the other writers of the bible also spoke God’s words with equal clairty…”, you will now have the choice before you on which voice to listen to. You have read Jesus’ Words above which rebuke that belief, so now you must choose.
It should be obvious that if we love Jesus, we will want to know Him and to get to know Him, we must read His Words.
God our Father has ordained that in order to get to know Him we must read His Son’s Words, seek to understand them, receive the words like little children into our hearts and do them.
If we do all that Jesus says you will know that “You are already “clean” because of the word which I have spoken to you”. John 15:3 To be “clean” means to be accepted by Jesus’ Father. And that means Life eternal!
May we avail ourselves of this glorious salvation, and not play the fool by participating in the religion game thinking that we will successfully substitute the shallow counterfeit for the genuine.
Dave said Jesus is god and Linda said god’s son is Jesus.
Now who is what or which? Am confused? All I know that there is the one and only God. No wonder you are all a screwed up lot.
Hello sbm,
Yes, sadly few of us can measure up to the perfect standards that would delight our Heavenly Father.
The Trinity Doctrine has caused many divides among true seekers. I would like to offer some thoughts on this topic based upon Jesus’ words. Without Jesus’ words I would have nothing of value to share with you.
Jesus says, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”. John 14:6
Given all the scripture that says the most important thing that God wants, is that we know Him, and thus love and obey Him, it seems quite odd that there would be confusion (contradictions) on knowing God. It seems to me that God would have revealed himself fully (of what we could comprehend) in terms of His person, Name, characteristics, etc. In fact, Jesus himself says, “I have revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things, whatever You have given Me, are from You. For I have given to them the Words which You gave Me, and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from You. And they have believed that You sent Me”. “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, FOR ALL THINGS THAT I HAVE HEARD FROM MY FATHER I HAVE MADE KNOWN TO YOU”. John 17:6-8; 15:15 (emphasis mine)
Clearly one of Jesus’ main missions on His first coming was to reveal his Father as well as Himself as the Messiah. If this be so, how can confusion and contradiction remain regarding knowing who Jesus is and who his Father is? We are not talking about an infinite aspect of God’s nature, but rather the issue of WHO GOD IS. In the above sayings of Jesus, He CLEARLY distinguishes between his Father and Himself.
When the Son says, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46; why can’t we receive the plain meaning? Why must we instead run to strange psycho-philosophical, “dual nature” explanations? Perhaps because we are hanging onto a tradition of men?
The Trinitarian view is that while they (the Father and the Son) are separate persons, yet they are the same God. This view is irrational and contradictory and there are many hundreds of verses that plainly state that Jesus and His Father are not the same person.
Here are a few more:
“Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father”. Matthew 20:23
So Jesus, being God, has not the authority to grant places of honor for his servants? Doesn’t it seem fairly obvious that this “Father”, that Jesus speaks of is “greater than” Jesus? And if Jesus is the Most High God, how could that be?
“Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, that is, God”. Mark 10:18
Jesus, sinless, yet in his humility, flatly denied that he was the Most High God. As always, he honored his Father above himself.
“Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will”. Mark 14:36
It is possible for the One Perfect God’s will to be divided?
“My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me”? Matthew 27:46
God the Most High, has a God? The Most HIgh God can forsake Himself?
No one has seen God at any time”. John 1:18 & John 4:12
What more can be said?
“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth”. John 4:24
Jesus teaches that, “God is spirit,” not that God is flesh, and thus the truth that “No one has seen God at any time”.
“If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said, “I am going to the Father’, for my Father is greater than I”. John 14:28
If Jesus is truly the Most High God, equal with his Father, then how can his Father be “greater” than he, in any respect? This is especially true in this context, as the context speaks nothing about physical things or his physical nature.
“I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God”. John 20:17
Jesus is ascending to his “God”. How can the Most High God have a God???
Why do christians reject the hundreds of verses of scripture that refute the Trinitarian view, in favor of the less than half a dozen which appear to support it?
Jesus of Nazareth is properly honored by believing who He says He is, not by making himself into something he is not. If someone comes along and says that Jesus of Nazareth ought to be honored ABOVE his Father, are you going to do that?
The Bahai “religion” cannot qualify as a religion – it is a terible hotch-potch of cut and paste job of plagiarising the Qur’an and the Bible. It is a heresy which sprang from the opponents of Islam and that is why even in its formative years it is inspired by the Brits and the Brits (guess who has hichjacked the brit government at the time??? Zionists of course!) wanted to control their Muslim subjects by divide and conquer. The result is the Bahai “religion” with outlandish claims of modernity.
have a look at:

As a political activist engaged in many volunteer activities addressing a variety of issues, I organize on the street. It is frightening to witness the complete dumbing down of the population by the fundamentalist Christian churches. The rabid right pro-war, pro-Bush Christians are unable to think logically. It is impossible to get these glaze eyed Rapture loving people to engage in a discussion about issues pertaining to how our nation and the world is going to survive given the horrendous conditions engulfing the world with war, poverty, disease, cultural decay, economic collapse etc. These Christian people display tendencies akin to mental illness in the sense that they are disengaged from reality. They think they are off the hook from any personal responsibility to address the many ills facing the world simply because they are “saved”
The fundy churches made abortion and gay rights the crucial issues during the last Presidential campaign. I can barely afford groceries anymore let alone a trip to the dentist and so on. The last thing I care about are gay issues and abortion.
Have you heard about Bush’s new health care plan????
PRAY YOU DON’T GET SICK!!!
Couple months ago two Mormon boys knocked upon my door asking me if I had ever heard of their Church…
Only around 20 to 30 years before they were born…
I explained to them that I am of Native Heritage…and that The Mormons and Tribes they crossed paths with got along fairly well.
That Mormons even participated in the Ghost Dance with Wovaca…
I said to them..In your…Book…it is written that Jesus lived with the Tribes long ago when the land was known as Turtle Island…
They said…Yes..
I said you do know there are accounts of Jesus living with Tribes long ago when it was Turtle Island from Tribes…
And they said..Yes they were aware there were such accounts…
In the Book called the Bible…Jesus did tell his Disciples after his resurrection he had to leave them to go feed sheep in other lands…before he Ascended back into the Kingdom…
Jesus did not teach..Religion…Jesus taught his Father’s Spiritual Kingdom…
If the accounts in the Mormon’s Book are correct…if the accounts & stories among Native Tribes is correct..and..If Jesus did as he said…Left his Disciples to go feed sheep in other lands…Then Jesus took on human form more than once…and has walked the earth more than once…
Cool..Huh?
In the book called the Bible..Jesus said he was going to return at a time when men thought not…
Who knows…Maybe Jesus of the Tribe of Judah..Did live & teach Tribes in Turtle Island long before it became America…that according to my reading..was patterend after the Roman Republic by those who founded America…
Senate…Mightly Legions…Taxes…
Strange world…I am just passing through this world…Having fun…
Rick, you brought tears to my eyes. I want to shake your hand, Friend.
Sparkle, Frank, please offer more guidance, I googled communitarians and hegelian dialectic and only one site popped up, dealing with liberals…care to shed some more light?
I guest if someone read all the way down to my comment then they were very patient folks ,thanks for reading this!! I just wonder if I know my Master Jesus Christ if he walked up to me and introduced himself? I guess I better just keep reading my scriptures and praying and learning more each day. Who ever you maybe I hope to meet you in the eternities and have the pleasure of knowing what you did in your life and if you knew how it would all turn out!! I’m still working it out for myself. I just know how I live and what I do with the time I have will effect my outcome into the eternities.
