As a Canadian, it disturbs me to watch a great country devolve into fascism.The helpless feelings of frustration and anxiety ( not to mention a certain sense of wonder that an entire nation can be so sucked in) that erupt with every new revelation have; for the first time in my life, made me wish that I could have a piece of the American franchise. What I am saying is that; could I ,I would vote for Gore!

There is much missing from the timeline. Carl Rove’s better-known “dirty tricks” go back at least to the 1980s. He has had no compunction about going after political opponents of any party with blatant lies of the most horrendous sort such as the Alabama judge who was subject to an effective whisper campaign that he was a pedophile because of his extensive work on child abuse. This technique which Rove used when he outed a covert government agent, Mrs. Wilson, is recognized by reporters in the know as they say,”Rove’s fingerprints are all over it.” His latest work through an Alabama prosecuting attorney has brought about the long prison term of former governor Don Siegelman for a bribery where neither he nor the one accused of doing the bribing benefitted in any way. A Republican attorney who was on a conference call blew the whistle on what she heard concerning the plan to get rid of Siegelman with a reference to “Carl”. But Siegelman remains in prison. Rove has given us a new vocabulary term,”swift boating.” His sociopathic delight in attacking people’s strengths gives Rove such deep satisfaction. He will certainly find his niche and continue doing what he loves, trying to destroy people’s lives.

why does everybody foolishly think that because Rove officially quits for what are currently unknown reasons; that suddenly he is out of the picture.It is not as if Rove died.

The only silver lining of Rove’s reign of terror is that he may have exposed the true colors of RW conservatism for the American people to see for the next 40 yrs. There are tens of millions of Americans who now look in the mirror and realize that they are not Republicans or conservatives. For that we have Karl Rove to thank. (with special TYs to hannity, Limbaugh, O’Reilly, and Coluter)

And if 2009-2049 give us ZERO yrs of right wing conservative govt, then so be it.

What was mentioned and had to for some reason was that Karl was not a college educated person. My follow up to that even though Karl is not my favorite person is that Karl is probably smarter than G W Bush even after Georges masters degree …

Betcha Karl has a blanket pardon already tucked away.
Calling him an “asswipe” doesn’t come close.In the “old” parlance, before the days of low-flow toilets, Rove would have been a “four-flusher”. Now he’s a perfect “ten”.
