Thomas is a sample of the twisted logic of the right wing.
The simple reason why he is there should be enough not to repudiate the left. All the black people matter has no sense at all. They were brought by force and put in slavery. They abandoned there history, language, religion, philosophy, culture, art and their blackness to endorse a new identity. Even so, white people didn’t accept them and never will. And they deserve that. Nobody will take you seriously if you don’t appreciate yourself.

The OLD testament, which is basically a book of Jewish history and religious teaching says “an eye for an eye”. However this is flatly contradicted by Jesus Christ who says, if someone strikes you, turn the other cheek. Christ also specifically pointed out that his teaching was different from that of the ancient prophets and scriptures.

Thomas hates being black. And he is the typical Repugnant, all is black or white. How could anyone with such minimal qualifications be appointed to such a position. He didn’t even meet the minimal qualifications. Oldman Bush had to be off his rocker. Thomas is in the same league as one of the outstanding prosecuters in the Simpson case, Darden.

An old hate-filled man who speaks against those who fought for equal rights which allowed people like Thomas to reach such high ranking positions.

I find it interesting that Anita Hill submitted herself to a polygraph test and Thomas refused to do so. This fact should be publicized in an ad campaign. The man is a fraud and should be impeached along with any other justice who we know lied during their confirmation hearings.

Joe above has said some of what I want to say in reply to your comment. But let me add, it’s long past time for liberals and leftists to make peace with those who have repeatedly and viciously attacked us for decades.

In fact, it’s liberals’ tendency to try to make peace and to try to ignore the crude and lying attacks on us for all those years that has gotten us in the mess our country is in today: we thought that if we ignored the clowns and ill-behaved children of the right, they would eventually go away.

That was the major mistake we made.

So now that the Left is starting to fight back in a serious way, in just the past few years really, we are seen as the aggressors in a war that was being fought without us for many years.

No, I and my fellow lefties are through playing nice with the right-wingnuts, among which are included Justice Thomas and Rush Limbaugh and MANY many others whose names would be easily recognized here. Peace is a good idea in the abstract. But when peace cannot be achieved, then a strong offense, not a quiet and dignified defense, is needed.

Where it will end, I don’t know. But playing Gandhi is clearly not the way in this particular case.

Brothers and sisters why do we need to be a each otherâ€™s throats all the time. We are all Godâ€™s children. Let us behave like members of the same family. Let us show more respect to one another. I despair when I read the anger and rancor in the tone of so many who post. Whether we be liberal or onservative we are all going to end up dead sooner or later. So letâ€™s not waste our precious time on earth tearing each other apart.

You have obviously not been paying attention. Respectful and reasonable is something you only see in Democrats these days. The Republicans don’t even pretend anymore…that may be their downfall.

Remember we are fighting for our very lives here against those with so little respect for a civil society…the GOP So it’s hard to continue to be nice when you’re slapped in the face repeatdly.

Yes, he’s too busy pitying himself to have any sympathy for anyone else. What he endured was patty-cake compared to what the Republicans put the Clintons through, and what Bush is putting the country through now.
