Worst. Campaign. Commercial. Ever. Chuck Norris Shills for Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee may have unintentionally created a masterpiece in the art of campaign ads on television. His new ad, on the air in Iowa, is so bad it may just be the “Plan 9 from Outer Space” of campaign advertising.

It is so unspeakably bad that it should automatically disqualify him from high office. No one who seeks to be president (or in Huckabee’s case, vice president) of the United States can have such a tin ear about messaging.

Here’s how bad it is: Even George Bush, as haplessly dimwitted as he is, would never allow something this bad on the air.

Are you kidding? I’m a Ron Paul fan, but I thought that was very clever of Huckabee. It’s a lot more ingenuous than any RP ad I’ve seen so far.

It was clever before I saw Walkers beliefs on the whole bible in the schools deal – the commercial now feels like it should be a paradody…but it isn’t.

This really is genius. LeviDon is right, it feels like a parody to those who would take it that way, but isn’t to those whose beliefs are inline with Huckabee’s. Reminds me of those right wingers who thought Colbert was the greatest thing ever, until someone told them it was a parody.

I love it! I heart Huckabee! This is hilarious! If it weren’t for that weird income tax deal, I might support Huckabee myself.

That’s hilarious. I’m with Dave, RP supporter but that was a great ad.

What a god awful ad. People who “like it” show the woeful decline of western civilization.

This would have been relevant 2 years ago but now is just an old joke.

Is the author of this post aware of the meme this commercial is based on?

  10. [...] The site I found this on seems to be clueless about the chuck norris facts meme for a couple years agi that was funny the first time I read it and became pretty blah after I had seen it on every message board ever.  [...]

how could anybody think this is clever? and what does it mean if you have a fist behind your beard? wtf? is that some down-home americanism? man, people who buy this message dont have any intelligence to be insulted. and bruce lee owned that clown

  12. evilsoup November 20, 2007 @ 12:36 am

It’s actually a great ad because it brings attention to a candidate who isn’t on most people’s radars. For any candidate who is not Hillary, Obama, Rudy, or (recently) Ron Paul, it’s tough to get noticed. Good luck to Huckabee, I wish his campaign all the best, so long as he doesn’t win.

It is getting harder and harder to take America seriously. The rest of the world just wonders what madness afflicts this once great country now that such *idiots* are in public office. Sigh.

Chuck Norris is an ass. And that bible in schools commerical deeply disturbing. But I still thought this commercial was funny and clever. Huckabee’s positions are abominable, of course, but the commercial was still clever.

Oh, I see, since none of the Chuck Norris facts are true, neither are any of the Mike Hackabee “facts”.

But at least he isn’t smearing any other politicians.

  16. Rob November 20, 2007 @ 5:43 am

What is your problem? This is by far the funniest and cleverest ad I have ever seen in American politics. I strongly disagree with what Norris and Huckabee are saying. However, it is very hard to dislike Huckabee when he shows that he can make (mild) fun of himself. If I were on the bubble, this would make me vote for Huckabee.

  17. Milan November 20, 2007 @ 5:56 am

Hilarious! It was perfect! :-) Why would someone say it was wrong?!

    Chuck approved! :-))

Someone needs to tell Mike Huckabee he’s not a comedian just because he’s been on The Colbert Report. He’s sucking from the entertainment tit which has the sourest milk of … either nipple.

  19. slayway November 20, 2007 @ 1:33 pm

    hilarious. Simply hilarious

  20. Dave Cannon November 21, 2007 @ 7:59 pm

This is a very clever campaign ad that is hopelessly flawed, but no less aesthetically brilliant for that.

The only people who could conceivably consider voting for Huckabee haven’t a snowflake’s chance in hell of catching the profound humor of the ad.

So, either you think the ad is awesome, but think the candidate is full of shit, or you’re a Walker fan who was going to vote his way anyway.

  21. 99 November 22, 2007 @ 10:15 pm

Oh, man, that was cute! I don’t like Norris. I don’t like Republicans. But that was cute.

  22. Greg Barker December 3, 2007 @ 4:07 am

I don’t see why anybody can hate this article. It shows that Huckabee can be funny and it also shows his views through Chuck Norris. Know what other president cracked jokes? A little known man named Abraham Lincoln.

  23. Jon December 3, 2007 @ 8:25 am

    But Lincoln was funny.

  24. tb February 3, 2008 @ 9:01 pm

dude they need to put in a joke like… I support Mike Huckabee because he can cut taxes…with his penius..lol
