Romney Takes Mormon-Dominated Wyoming

Congratulations to Mitt Romney on his astonishing and unforeseen victory in Wyoming, where one in seven residents is Mormon. Whoda thunk it?

Of course, Wyoming pundits attribute Mitt’s success to other factors.

Romney visited Wyoming in August and November and three of his five sons campaigned in the state.

“Number one, he campaigned here,” delegate Leigh Vosler of Cheyenne said of Romney. “I think that helped while some other candidates ignored us. But also he’s the right person for the job.”

For his trouble, Romney picked up eight delegates to the Republican convention. Fred Thompson earned two and Duncan Hunter one. One final delegate is still up for grabs as Wyoming caucus-goers sort out their allegiances.

1/7 = 14.28%. Over 70% of Wyoming went for Romney. When FIVE times more people in a state go for Romney than are actually even of his own faith I’d call it an overwhelming win for Romney. Your post oozes sour grapes.

Congratulations to Mike Huckabee on his astonishing and unforeseen victory in Iowa, where two in five residents is an Evangelical. Whoda thunk it?
Of course, national pundits attribute Mike’s success to other factors.
Your comments are not sour grapes they are full of fear and bigotry. I promise you one thing. Mitt did not run in Wyoming as a Mormon he ran as an American who loves his country and has ideas how to solve some of her problems.
Mitt Romney won in Wyoming because he competed there just like he is competing in every other early state. I find it funny when the pundits say if Mitt comes in second in Iowa and New Hampshire he is done but Rudy or Fred can come in 4th and 5th and still be just fine. Mitt takes second in Iowa and he is toast becuase he spent so much money there, McCain takes fourth in Iowa and it is no big deal even though he has been running for President for the past 10 years. Pathetic! Just like your post.
