Has anyone else stumbled across the new format/programming that they have on 1680 AM in Grand Rapids? I was flipping through my radio and planned on reminiscing to a little Radio Disney, which has apparently been replaced. Anyway, it is now billing itself as Public Reality Radio. I only got a chance to listen for a little bit, but they announced a URL as http://www.publicrealityradio.org. I checked out their site, and there is some interesting programming that they have. If anyone else has listened to this, I would love to hear some opinions, and if you haven’t heard it yet, I would give it a listen. I was particularly fond of “The Infidel Guy”.

By now everyone is aware of the train wreck that our health care system has become, but few people know what to do about it as it concerns them. We're given bits and pieces, even from the natural health care community. So it's hard to come up with a plan to take care of ourselves. My book "AFFORDING TO BE UNHEALTHY" is designed to do just that. It tells you how to get well and stay that way, while enjoying a prosperous and productive life. It includes natural remedies for everything from the common cold to getting rid of skin cancer (yes, I did say the Big C), Parkenson disease symptoms and kidney stones, all without invasive surgery or deadly synthetic drugs.
I heard on the news that people are starting to quit taking their meds and going to the doctor because they simply can’t afford to continue. We must get the alternatives to them.
I do interviews all over the country and consulting.
If you can work me in, I’d love to be on your station.
In Vibrant Health,
Willie Gene

PS. President Obama has read this book.

WZNZ has already thrown in the towel on progressive radio. It has been sold to Queen of Peace Broadcasting and will be converted back to a religious format.

In addition to Jacksonville-St. Augustine, the 1460 AM signal will reach Gainesville and also a large area of South Georgia.

Andy's a mixed bag. He's filed a number of lawsuits that would have better suited a Republican. One was to redraw a district that had been created to ensure minority representation. Because of Andy's challenge, the district was redrawn mostly white again, but African-American U.S. Congresswoman Corrine Brown won anyway. Another questioned the legality of an initiative by the former mayor to undertake a handful of public works projects that would help keep Jacksonville from turning into Atlanta vis-a-vis miles of pavement and sprawl. Andy settled that one and the projects were implemented as planned, with a bunch of money wasted on lawyers. Andy was invited by my Tiger Bay Club to represent Democrats after the 2002 elections, when Florida voters went for Republican candidates and Democratic ballot initiatives. I remember thinking they should have invited any number of real Democrats instead. But I wish him well, and will be interested to see what he does with the station.
