The best entertainment going this season is the crack up on the right over the ascendancy of John McCain. What could be more fun than witnessing the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Hugh Hewitt and others in a full-bore panic because the conservative movement is imploding under their feet.
Hugh Hewett was just on CNN whining because the mainstream media is ignoring the rightwing radio talkers’ endorsements of Mitt Romney and, particularly, their message to their listeners that a vote for Mike Huckabee is a vote for McCain.
As a Democrat, I heartily endorse their efforts on Romney’s behalf, and since Dittoheads and Coulter Clones often troll these pages, here is Rush on Huckabee from his Thursday show:
RUSH: The popular vote right now doesn’t matter, it’s a delegate thing and that’s why right now Super Tuesday — I mean Hugh Hewitt ran some numbers here, worst-case scenario from Romney, just to be fair about it, and these numbers, I’m having to get them from my head and I may be off by a couple hundred but the point will be made.
At the end of Super Tuesday, the number of delegates McCain could have would be in the 700s, the number Romney would have would be in the 300s, that’s large to overcome. It can be done, it can still be done, but that’s monumental, and Huckabee will be in there with 150 some odd. The real key to this is Huckabee. A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain in the primaries.
Just doing our part to help Republican voters!

I would not go as far as to say the conservative movement is imploding. It is just that most Repubulicans and conservatives are not buying what the talking heads are saying.
Now Ann COulter Sean, the NRO cocktail crowd might be seeing their place in the conservative movement imploding but that is quite different.
Would you want talk to someone who warped his mind with supernatural slush, believed in a recent creation and a universal geological/biological lie imbedded in nature, condmend everything to sin and hell because of a snit over an apple, and categorically denied science in favor of “believe in anything you want as long as the bible says so” mentality??
Would you want him to filter all his decisions and actions through the lens of that kind of mind?
Huh?
What if he descided god called him to be the one who starts Armagedon so that pretty body Jesus and return in the clouds (of the nuclear bombs) to rapture his church. (At least that would get rid of it for good!)
Huh?
Time to unravel the name-gain. Religious Christian zealots do not own the name Conservative. One can be an atheist and be a Conservative Republican. Republican means an ideology of government that is frankly the opposite of Liberalism. McCain is more than a Rhrinocrat, he is a liberal transvestite doing drag as a conservative, and not very well at that. Christian Fundamentalists are as big a threat to America as Islamic Fundamentalism. They just use different means, one uses ignorance and beligerent “faith” (i.e., irrational belief” the other uses human bombs. But the end is the same…domination for one god or another. Our founding Constitutionalist were Diest, which is another name for atheist except they had to have a god watchmacker to wind things up. They would believe in the Big Bang today. And creationism is crap, unless you like a god who plays the game of rewarding ignorance and faith with a natural lie about the physical universe. Any god who has a snit over an apple, then condems the whole word to sin and hell, then kills his triune son/self/whatever is worthing only of a bad cartoon character at best. Biblical innerance is absurdity gone wild!
