Religious Christian zealots do not own the name Conservative. One can be an atheist and be a Conservative Republican. Republican means an ideology of government that is frankly the opposite of Liberalism. McCain is more than a Rhrinocrat, he is a liberal transvestite doing drag as a conservative, and not very well at that. Christian Fundamentalists are as big a threat to America as Islamic Fundamentalism. They just use different means, one uses ignorance and beligerent "faith" (i.e., irrational belief" the other uses human bombs. But the end is the same...domination for one god or another. Our founding Constitutionalist were Diest, which is another name for atheist except they had to have a god watchmacker to wind things up. They would believe in the Big Bang today. And creationism is crap, unless you like a god who plays the game of rewarding ignorance and faith with a natural lie about the physical universe. Any god who has a snit over an apple, then condems the whole word to sin and hell, then kills his triune son/self/whatever is worthing only of a bad cartoon character at best. It is just that most Repubulicans and conservatives are not buying what the talking heads are saying. Now Ann COulter Sean, the NRO cocktail crowd might be seeing their place in the conservative movement imploding but that is quite different.
