I think white conservatives want Barack to win so that this can finally be the beginning of the end for affirmative action for blacks. Why do we need preferential treatment when the country has overcome racial prejudice to elect a black President? I am hearing this more and more from whites like my church leaders. Everything should be based on merits not on race. Let the blacks and Asians and whites and Latinos all compete equally without quotas in education( college admission, sports, career opportunities). This is a great country.
