Was Larry Johnson Censured at DailyKos for Criticizing Obama?

Larry Johnson is a former CIA agent (and ex-Republican voter), whose outrage over the outing of Valerie Wilson by Dick Cheney and his henchmen was what initially riveted my attention to the scandal.
“You guys are John Bolton and Dick Cheney in drag. You are welcome to kiss my ass.”
- Larry Johnson

Now, via our friend Brad Friedman at The BRADBLOG, we learn that he’s been warned about the content of his posts at DailyKos, apparently because he’d had the temerity to criticize Barack Obama.

The autobot warning Johnson received from the DailyKos moderator did not mention Obama:

Your latest diary was filled with inaccurate and/or unsupported claims, Muslim-bashing, xenophobia and inflammatory and insulting language. This is unacceptable and you need to tone it down and better support your claims.

But in his response, posted at his site, No Quarter, Johnson says it was support for Hillary Clinton that triggered the displeasure of site owner Markos Moulitsas:

Okay Mr. Kos. Here’s a word for you: GO FUCK YOURSELF. (Actually, that’s three words. My bad.)

This wannabee poseur and his gang of Animal Farm pig imitators have lost touch with reality.

About a month ago I had an exchange with Markos concerning troll rating Susan Hu (SusanUnPC), who had the audacity to try to defend one of my posts. He said (and I can’t give you the exact quote until I get back to my puter in Maryland) that Susan was being “disciplined” for not allowing the community to punish me for my anti-Obama postings. The little fucking twerp obviously has never read nor understood George Orwell’s Animal Farm. For the cultural illiterates (and I hope there are none on this blog), Orwell described an oppressed society of farm animals who took control of an overbearing farmer’s property. And before you could say, Barack Obama is incompetent, the pigs began punishing the other farm animals. They assumed the worst traits of the humans they vanquished.

Well Markos and crowd. Orwell was right. Fuck you people. I won’t post and I won’t read. But most of all, I won’t apologize. I have nothing to apologize for other than making the false assumption that you clowns gave a shit about freedom of expression or liberty. You guys are John Bolton and Dick Cheney in drag. You are welcome to kiss my ass.

Maybe what the Kossacks did not like was stuff like this from Johnson’s website:

As Democrats and Independents weigh who they want to run against John McCain in the fall, answer this question. Can you support a candidate who is friends with terrorists? Can you support a candidate who takes money from terrorists? Well, if Obama is your man you have some problems. Today’s Bloomberg News drops this bombshell:

Besides Rezko and Giannoulias, Obama could face questions about his relationship with William Ayers, a former member of the radical group the Weather Underground who is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Ayers donated $200 in 2001 to Obama’s Illinois state Senate campaign and served with him from 1999 to 2002 on the board of the Woods Fund, an anti-poverty group.

A Series of Bombings

The Weather Underground carried out a series of bombings in the early 1970s — including the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. While Ayers was never prosecuted for those attacks, he told the New York Times in an interview published Sept. 11, 2001, that “I don’t regret setting bombs.”

Bill Burton, Obama’s spokesman, said Ayers “does not have a role on the campaign.” Ayers said he had no comment on his relationship with Obama.

If it’s true — and, really, in the case of Republicans, even if it’s not — this is exactly the sort of dirt that will make Obama’s charisma evaporate in the summer sun — and that will send all the “Obamicans” and moderate independents running home to John McCain before Labor Day.

It also speaks to his biggest weakness as a candidate: He’s never faced an aggressive Republican opponent. The only competitive race he’s been in was the Democratic primary in a congressional race, which he lost to the incumbent, Rep. Bobby Rush — and Rush, a former Black Panther, probably wouldn’t have wanted to go after Obama’s ties to a former Weatherman. (Even so, Rush beat Obama handily.)

For some reason, it is okay to trash Bill and Hillary Clinton 24/7, not just on policy but on their personal foibles — and goddess knows they’re not perfect — but it is considered apostasy to criticize Obama. (Unless you’re his wife, and then you can point out his feet stink, which, by the way, is way too much information.)

Have we have become them — Clinton-haters who line up and follow Dear Leader off the cliff?

“The Weather Underground carried out a series of bombings in the early 1970s — including the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon.”

Mr. Obama was all but 11 years old when these “bombings” occurred.
Mr. Obama’s association with Mr. Ayers is thru The Woods Fund, an anti-poverty group.

Since when we denounce people because they care about the poor and the helpless?

I thing Mr. Johnson should apologize to Mr. Obama.

and Bill Clinton pardoned those in the Weather Underground. But don’t look to Larry or Hu to bring up that fact.

Anyway.. Barack Obama’s election was confirmed last night during a session in the Senate moderated by Dick Cheney. So this is all moot!

Ah.. I guess it’s all ok now that Obama is President and damn near everyone who shook Bill Clinton’s hand in the last 40 years has been appointed to the cabinet with the exception of Monica Lewinsky!
