Congress
On Meet the Press this morning, Ralph Nader announced he is entering the presidential race this year.
He says he is getting into the race because he (rightly) believes the machinery of our political system is broken. It is hard to see how putting more sand in the gears helps anything.
Nader rankles at the suggestion his candidacy in 2000 led to the election of George Bush, but if Al Gore lost Florida by 600 votes (as opposed to the more likely scenario in which thousands of Democratic votes were not counted), the facts are the facts. Most Nader voters in Florida said they would have voted for Gore if Nader had not been on the ticket.
Nader is an Arab-American and will be 74 years old on Wednesday, both of which might make him vulnerable to political attacks in this cycle, if his candidacy were to become a serious threat.

Ralph is filling the gap left by Edward’s withdrawal from the race. Just what this presidential contest needs; a little corporation bashing. Go Ralph.
“FUCK NADER 08″
Ralph find a hobby or get a dog.

Ralph Nader is filling the gap left by Edward’s withdrawal from the race. Nader is just what this presidential contest needs. He will focus attention on the corporate / pentagon dominance of the body politic / economy. Fear is the enemy of change. It takes a courageous people to embrace the kind of change Ralgh Nader could bring to this country.
nader – This asshole brought a lotta change in 2000 already …
At this stage of the game it’s all about hubris if he is a real agent of change he can some other fucking way Period.
Edwards can speak for himself and me … and I’ll bet he will … he’s a big boy ya know.
Whatever you think of Ralph Nader, he did NOT cost Democrats the 2000 election.
FACTS:
6% of registered democrats VOTED FOR BUSH in 2000
3% of registered democrats VOTED FOR NADER in 2000
6%>3% at least, according to my math
Finally, Gore WON the popular vote, despite the 9% registered democrats who voted for someone else.
SCOTUS stole the election for the Rethugs.
Stop blaming Nader. He may be a horse’s ass, but not because he cost Dems the 2000 election.
getaclue ~ Leave the horse out of this. Unfortunately his message is made almost totally ineffective by his overshadowing buffoonery and selfishness. No need to insult the horses…
