At last, the White House can claim one member of its staff serves in the Army. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has enlisted. But not in the U.S. Army. No, Condi is the newest recruit in the Kiss Army fan club.
Rice was in the Swedish capital Thursday for an international conference on Iraq. Kiss had a sold-out concert to play Friday.
“I was thrilled,” Rice said of her late-night encounter with Kiss frontman Gene Simmons and bandmates Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer in the executive lounge of the Sheraton Hotel…
“It was really fun to meet Kiss and Gene Simmons,” she told reporters, noting that they seemed well-informed about current events.
Too bad Condi is not similarly well-informed about pop cultural events. If she were, she would know Gene Simmons was just involved in a different kind of late-night encounter, involving a woman referred to as an “Austrian energy drink spokesmodel” and a video camera.

We’ll leave it viewers of the tape to decide if she is also wearing two sacks of saline or silicone solution implanted in her chest.
The most striking thing about the video is the seeming distaste for the tasks on the part of the actors. To say it is devoid of passion is like saying water lacks a complexity of flavors. It’s really, really true.
