McCain’s Alabama Chairman Reportedly Outed – Attorney General Troy King Has a Record of Homophobic Rhetoric

Troy King, Alabama’s Attorney General as well as the chairman of John McCain’s Alabama Leadership Team* was reportedly caught by his wife in their bed with — naturally — another man:

King, a conservative Republican Christian who has called homosexuality the “downfall of society,” has been caught with his pants down — literally — in a gay sex scandal. King was reportedly nabbed having sex with a male assistant by his wife, Paige King, in the couple’s own bed.

There are unconfirmed stories that King has been banished from his home and that he is on the brink of resigning.

King’s record on gay issues is standard fare for high-profile self-hating gays of his ilk:

King, considered a potential frontrunner for Alabama Governor in 2010, has been vocal in his condemnation of homosexuality and abortion. He has worked to outlaw sex toys and is a staunch supporter of the death penalty…

As a law student at the University of Alabama, King wrote frequent editorials for The Crimson White in condemnation of gays, affirmative action and abortion. In his editorials for the student newspaper, King called homosexuality the “downfall of society” and said AIDS could be cleansed from America if “this nation’s current purveyors of perversion would refrain from committing sodomy.”

King also slammed the idea that gays and lesbians could provide loving, normal families for children, saying: “I often hear the argument that homosexuals who live together create a loving, caring family environment, perhaps an environment which is even superior to that which can be provided by a heterosexual couple. In this day of rampant decadence, many homosexuals would misled society into believe that three men, an armadillo and a house plant create a functional family.”

Favorite rumor so far: King’s boyfriend is a former homecoming king at Troy University. If It’s true, expect to see the headline, “Troy King and the Troy Homecoming King” somewhere soon.

*Update: The McCain campaign quickly scrubbed King from its website today. We have a screen capture and the full text posted here.

Your link to the John McCain site returns a blank page.

Also, if this rumor is true, then I sincerely hope that Troy King’s wife takes him for everything they have.

GDad – Interesting. The page has apparently been pulled down by McCain campaign. I’ll find another source.

please try and report as pure rumor. yes, i do think the mccain link has been taken down – but irresponsible bloggers have fueled these discussions, and i use irresponsible in the present tense because there is no substantiated fact yet to be discussed. someone got ahead of themselves, unfortunately it has broader reprecussions this time – especially with an innocent man

Mr. GOP at 11:26 p.m. on June 11:

Why are you denying this story? Do a quick Google. It is literally all over the AP wire.

    Why stand up for him?

McCain once again has screwed up BIG TIME.

Would it be any better if he was having sex with a female assistant?
Gay or straight, whatever. The news here, IMHO, is that he’s a power hungry Republican expressing his dominance over someone who is in his employment.

I wonder if he’s “buddies” with Gov. Charlie Lisp?

i’m just trying to figure out the awkward social implications of king’s relationship.

for example, if king and the alleged prom king were to go to dinner, it’s easy to imagine the two of them stuck, unable to sit down, as each, following correct protocol, deferred to the other:

“oh, no, you’re the king. you sit first.”

“oh, no, you’re the king. you sit first…”

Being gay is not an issue – but to preach and propagate hate AND deny gay rights is disgusting . . but ad in being one that does AND getting caught in bed with a LIVE BOY by his WIFE, is poetic justice and would NEVER make it into a script . . . .

Cheney wouldn’t mind, long’s it kin – but the Alabama Republican Cracker Party MAY have an issue with swapping boxers with your staff . . . (no pun intended)

Has anything more come of this? I haven’t been able to find anything on it in the MSM. Not that everything that is true is reported by the Mainstream Corporate Media. Just wondering.

It has been sometime now. Where are the facts? AP has not reported any of this. I am not denying it but you have made some bold accusations that if false will ruin a man’s career. No legitimate new source would print this.

I guess this was all a lie that didn’t stick, at least anywhere other than with boys that are sticky. Why don’t you make up another?
