SNL hasn’t been funny for years. Other than the sketches making fun of the debates and Palin, the rest of the shows were like watching paint dry. I doubt this will help McCain much.

It can’t be about ratings since McCain can’t draw a crowd — had to bus in 2,000 school children to fill a venue in Ohio yesterday.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that NBC is owned, ultimately, by GE, which is a major defense contractor.

And did Lorne Michaels ever become a U.S. citizen?

add to that the free commercial that cnn gave mccain during obamas paid spot, and it shows who supports whom. thank you, jon stewart, and move on larry king and michaels.

I will not watch this week. When SNL becomes a political forum…it is time to give up the show. How can you combine fart jokes with a Presidential campaign? It is time for a change.

The relationship of Alex Baldwin and Tina Fey on “30 Rock” appears to be a satire on the relationship between Michaels and Fey when she was on SNL: the hip,rich conservative producer trys to mentor the poor liberal-socialist writer.
Fey’s brilliant portrayal of Palin has certainly hurt her well-crafted hockey-mom image, so Michaels is having Palin and McCain on the show to undo and reverse the damage. He is trying to say, “Look, the satires are only satires, the real people are cool, vote for them.”
We may consider these appearances as each worth about two million dollars in free publicity that Lorne Michaels is donating to McCain and the Republican Party.
No doubt of Guilliani had won the nomination, Michaels would have had him as permanent host every week before the season.
