Button Your Shirt, Rush – No One Wants To See All That Skin

Others have looked at the substance, such as it was, in Rush Limbaugh’s “first national address” since ascension by fiat to head the Republican Party.

So let’s look at the style. Why did Rush Limbaugh show up with his shirt unbuttoned? Did he think he looked … sexy?

At BuzzFlash, Mark Karlin said “Limbaugh was dressed in black, as if he were the Pillsbury Doughboy trying to imitate Steven Seagal.” He added that that the CPAC crowd reminded him of the mass derangement scene in “Day of the Locust.”

Tom Watson at HuffPo described Rush as “[looking] for all the world like the sweating floor manager on the late afternoon shift at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club in an unbuttoned shiny black shirt and undersized sport coat…” And: “Jowls rolling like thunder from the right via CNN’s unfortunate high-definition feed, Limbaugh took control of the sad and tattered remnants of the mainstream conservative movement, and urged continued allegiance to the noble Lost Cause of Reagan, metaphorically carrying his rebel-yelling followers into the hills like modern-day Quantrill’s Raiders standing firm against change.”

Taking a contrary view, Tom Trento, a Dittohead at Red County, was complimentary, of course, “Rush is classic, even looked classic in his black-on-black, open collar, tieless ensemble (whoa, I’m starting to sound like one of those designers!)” But: “Note to Rush: get back on the salads and veggies, the movement needs you around a bit longer.”

I haven’t seen any liberal blogger pick up on this, but Rush also proved he doesn’t know shit about American history. He said the “the preamble to the U.S. Constitution guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. Actually, that phrase is from the Declaration of Independence.

But then, what do you expect from a college drop-out who has snorted so much Oxycontin he lost his hearing?

I’m getting an Orson Welles vibe. You know, slightly before his death, when he only wore black and was as big as a house.

Yeah, Trish but there is another difference-Welles was creative and Rush is, well the only word that can describe his blubbery catterwumple, destructive. If he’d only go away for a decade or two.

Skeeeeevie! Fat because oxycontin causes major constipation and all that stuff backs up in your system! Skeeevie because I understand he travels to the Dominican Republic to “date” little boys. Blow-hard because he only relates to the brain-dead, rednecks and those who only watch Faux News.
Disgusting to any woman who has half a brain and totally disguting to real thinking women.
Does nothing but promote hate and bigotry so I guess he belongs with Ann Coulter, or possibly Michelle Malkin. He appeals only to those who hate and sneer at anyone who actually can have an intellectual conversation.

Why would anyone listen to a nasty drug taking radio person who it seems wants to start the un educated poor to riot in the streets.
