Patience:

When I read comments like you it makes me wonder if you ever paid attention in history class. African-American ancestors come from places with strong cultures, cultures that have nothing to do with mine or yours probably European); the fact that they did not wear "proper" clothes did not make them savages, "Dancing around barefoot with war paint in the jungle.." Many African cultures have a history of masks and dances are part of celebrations (harvest, coming of age, etc.). Please a little bit of respect for other cultures always goes a long way.

yeah, free communal farming and hunting in africa was surely worse than being captured, chained and forced to provide free labor enforced by floggings and death for exploiting colonialists... the white american version of history always seems to be able to produce some sort of twisted examples of the advantages of slavery as opposed to freedom and expect people of color to blindly be grateful.

Juneteenth should be celebrated only by those to whom rational thought is painful... like the GOP

What reparations? If their distant ancestors hadn't been brought over here they would still be dancing around barefoot with war paint in the jungle... if anything, they should be grateful for being here not asking for something they don't deserve.
They always have something to complain about... real or imagined.
