A new Rasmussen poll provides the third reason you don’t want to live in Arizona. First, let’s review numbers one and two:
1. John McCain is your United States senator
2. Temperatures over 110 are common
And now, number three:
Fifty-one percent (51%) of Arizona voters say it is more important for Congress to pass immigration reform than health care reform…
Voters in the Grand Canyon State still highly regard Maricopa Country Sheriff Joseph Arpaio, known for his tough immigration enforcement. Fifty-seven percent (57%) say the sheriff’s policies have helped the state’s image, showing little change from May.
There you have it folks. Bottom line: if you want to live in Southwest, move to New Mexico where they have Bill Richardson, John Nichols, and Taos.

Excuse me there twinkieboy. Unless you’ve lived in Arizona and had your property destroyed by illegals trying to cross the border or had to contend with the associated drug violence that goes with drugs crossing an international border, please STFU. Try living here for a while and maybe you’ll see more clearly. But you are right about reasons 1 and 2. Can’t argue with those. You may now go back to your MTV, iPod, DVD and microwave popcorn.
Trish, on this one, you are
WRONG. they cannot fix healthcare until they can guarantee that citizens get their fair share of healthcare compared to the healthcare of illegal immigrants or undocumented alien as those who do not live with the problem do…or liberals with a small L who fail to look at budget issues. This is an honest issue and should be discussed wisely not in sarcastic tones. however, i wouldn’t live in Arizona, either.
I live in AZ and you have to remember for years we DID have Janet Neapolitano as governor, and she did a lot of good for the state. Illegals are a problem along the border, but not so much as you head north. One more thing, the whole state is not 110+ degrees! In Flagstaff (northern AZ) right now it’s about 75 degrees, and in Bisbee(southern AZ) its about 85 degrees. Admittedly, there are some backward people and backward laws here..
