Leader of Anti-Govt. Group Funding Glenn Beck’s 9/12 March Is a Christ-Denying Atheist

NARLO Video: The Coming Civil War, apparently written and narrated by Ron Ewart, NARLO’s president. (Partial transcript below.)

art-teabagger-march NARLO, the National Organization of Rural Landowners, a Bronze sponsor of the Tea Baggers’ “9/12″ march on Washington today, is, among other things, the producer of a not-ready-for-cable-access propaganda video titled, “The Coming Civil War.”

In the video, which was apparently written and narrated by Ron Ewart, the president of NARLO — a genuine Birther, Deather and Tenther — viewers are asked a series of questions so misleading and contrived that they would be laughable if there weren’t so many hapless fools out there who accept this nonsense as fact. Just try to count the false statements and flawed assumptions in this brief sampling:

How do you like paying for education, health care, housing and safety-net benefits for illegal aliens that are streaming into America by the millions? …

How do you like your tax dollars being used in foreign aid, that is given to dictators, despots and other cretins who use our money for their own enrichment and trickle only a few of our dollars to their “subjects?” …

How do you like government telling you what to eat, what to wear, where to live, where to work, what to drive, or being forced to not drive at all and paying for government mega-projects that always come with huge cost overruns, where they have to go back to the taxpayer for more money to finish the project?…

How do you like your federal government sticking their fingers into local public schools and mandating, with federal law, socialism, radical environmentalism, multi-culturalism and the one-world-order being taught to your children in those schools?

So here’s a question that is actually based reality: How do you think the 9/12 Tea Baggers descending on Washington today — these red-meat American Christian patriots — would like it if they knew that one of the march’s sponsoring organizations is headed by an avowed atheist?

Writing for the site ethicalatheist.com, NARLO’s Ron Ewart published an article in which he voices his disbelief in religion — saying about Jesus Christ: “[Only] one person has supposedly returned from Heaven and the evidence for such an extraordinary event is only hearsay and very old.” Elsewhere, Ewart writes, “I admit I am either an agnostic or an atheist.”

The 9/12 march is the brainchild, so to speak, of Glenn Beck, the racist talk-show host, who also happens to be a Mormon. Given Beck’s religion — which Mike Huckabee, the ordained Southern Baptist preacher called satanic — it would probably be interesting to fundamentalist Tea Baggers that Beck chose NARLO, an atheistic organization, as a sponsor for the march.

Of course, we’ll never know whether Tea Baggers like this or not, because they have been trained to only receive information from right-wing propaganda outlets like Fox and hate radio — and you can bet Fox and the hate-talkers will never utter a peep about the 9/12 sponsor’s godlessness.

We first heard about NARLO on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show, when Maddow pointed out that in Ewart’s propaganda video, “The Coming Civil War,” he calls for a violent overthrow of the United States.

Here’s what he says at the end of propaganda piece:

Although we are being civil now, our civilty is straining at the leash. After civility and calls for redress of grievances that aren’t answered comes massive protests and the potential break-down of civil order.

After massive protests will come the secession of states. After the secession of states will come the pitchforks. And after the pitchforks will come the guns. After the guns will come civil war or outright revolution.

We have been warned.

Transcript of “The Coming Civil War”

Here’s the rough transcript of Ewart’s propaganda video. Given the punctuation oddities, it was apparently typed up by Ewart himself:

If you are a hard-working, responsible, self-reliant and successful American, how do you like billions of your taxes paying for bank, business and ne’er-do-well homebuyer bailouts, homebuyers that were encouraged by government to buy homes they couldn’t afford? How do you like your government using trillions of your tax dollars for ill advised stimulus packages that won’t work and aren’t working?

How do you like paying for education, health care, housing and safety-net benefits for illegal aliens that are streaming into America by the millions? How do you like our open border policy and the lack of enforcement of existing laws that have become the magnet for those millions to come here in the first place? And how do you like the fact that politicians in both parties purposely allow these things to happen, for the sole purpose of increasing their base of future voters? To make matters worse, under the current regime, (socialist administration) amnesty for illegals is coming our way very soon, no matter how most Americans will object. After all, these politicians know what is best for us, don’t they?

How do you like individuals being appointed by the new president to become Secretary of the Treasury, who will oversee the IRS, when the appointee has cheated on his income tax, hired illegal aliens as house keepers and some other little misdeeds he was purported to have committed? How do you like an individual (Holder) with an avowed mindset against individual gun ownership, being appointed to the top American Justice official, attorney general of the United States?

How do you like your tax dollars being used in foreign aid, that is given to dictators, despots and other cretins who use our money for their own enrichment and trickle only a few of our dollars to their “subjects”? Did you know that your current socialist president is now pushing for 0.7% of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP – $14 Trillion) to be paid out in foreign aid, because that is what the United Nations says is the fair amount for America? Did you know that 0.7% of GDP is just shy of $100,000,000,000 (billion) dollars of our tax money going offshore, and for what? This is nothing more than government forcing you to be charitable to the entire world, at the point of a gun. (Don’t think so? Try not paying your taxes.)

National Health Care is coming whether we like it our not. Did you know that Obama’s current stimulus package of almost $1 Trillion dollars, sets aside $600,000,000 to prepare for National Health Care? If they are spending this kind of money for preparation, you can bet we will get National Health Care.

How do you like government telling you what to eat, what to wear, where to live, where to work, what to drive, or being forced to not drive at all and paying for government mega-projects that always come with huge cost overruns, where they have to go back to the taxpayer for more money to finish the project? Happens every time. Government is the epitome of waste, fraud, abuse and corruption.

How do you like your government telling you that you have to get off of oil, drive your car less and decrease your carbon foot print to save us from the dire predictions of the fraud that is man-caused global warming? How will you like the cost of everything increasing because of government’s headlong drive to decrease man-caused CO2 emissions and engage in the insanity of cap and trade policies? How do you like your government telling you that you have to subsidize highly inefficient wind and solar power, that is but a small fraction of what oil and coal produce? How do you like the fact that environmentalists and government have stood in the way of clean nuclear energy for 30 years?

How do you like government telling you what you can or cannot do with your land? And you rural landowners, how do you feel about being asked to bear almost the entire burden of environmental protection, while your city brethren get off virtually scot-free? These same city folks who have the majority votes to elect the politicians that pass the environmental laws that only affect rural landowners. That’s fair, isn’t it? No it isn’t fair and in fact, violates the equal protection clause of the Constitution.

How do you like your federal government sticking their fingers into local public schools and mandating, with federal law, socialism, radical environmentalism, multi-culturalism and the one-world-order being taught to your children in those schools? How do you like the fact that the federal government prints the books that teach our children about our form of government, but those books teach that our form of government is a Constitutional Democracy, not a Constitutional Republic? The distinctions between a Democracy and a Republic are a canyon wide. Does brainwashing and indoctrination come to mind?

How do you like the fact that the injustices that were being inflicted on the colonials in 1776, that caused them to revolt against the tyrannical rule of England, are now the very same injustices Americans are being accosted with, by their own government, for the last 80 to 100 years? How do you like the fact that under the current Obama administration and a very liberal congress, those injustices will increase at an accelerated rate?

The giant question is, how long will freedom-loving Americans take it? How long will the producers put up with paying for the non-producers and outright billion-dollar gifts in foreign aid? How long will those brave Americans who are embedded with the song of liberty, take the theft of their sweat, blood and tears, before they say, enough is enough? Which of the injustices we are now enduring, will be the trigger that will send a large percentage of these Americans over the edge and declare civil war against the non-producers, who leverage government with their majority vote, to fill their government-sponsored “pig trough”? Or, how long will it be before the producers of our society, either “check out”, or declare war on their own government for these injustices?

The current direction of America will and is producing mediocrity, self-loathing and a decline in production and morality. These cultural maladies will only get worse on this path we take.

Predictions of future events is a dicey game. Many have tried but predictions, throughout history, turn out to be mostly inaccurate ….. the Mayans, Nostradamus and a few others have been given marginal credit. But we will take a stab at some general predictions. The hard truth is, we are headed for a civil war. Nevertheless, rest assured, this will not be the civil war of 1861, wherein brother rises up against brother and state declares war against another state or states. This war won’t be fought with larger-than-life generals, unless nationwide anarchy ensues.

As the liberals in the current administration squeeze Americans with their socialist, radical environmental and one-world-order agenda, as they work towards dismantling American sovereignty, even more so than previous administrations have done, small armed revolts will begin to appear in isolated areas. These small revolts will be immediately squashed by local law enforcement. Even so, the small revolts will grow and become larger ones. There will be individual attacks on other individuals for perceived threats or revenge for acts of violence. Occasions of Hatfield and McCoy feuds will grow. There will be attacks by individuals on government institutions, as more and more folks let their growing frustrations morph into violent acts. There will be individual and multiple violent attacks on illegal aliens.

Still, other non-violent revolts will come in the form of silent and noisy protests. Some revolts will come in the form of disobeying the law and withholding taxes. These are already happening. Some will come in the form of increased lobbying of politicians and rising numbers of court cases to undo what the liberals have done and are doing. But even worse, some will come in the form of wholesale cheating. The prevailing attitude will be, if the government can cheat, abuse our trust and their power and corrupt our institutions, why should individual Americans be any different? A breakdown in morality, honesty, integrity and honor will accelerate. This breakdown is already well underway.

Large infusions of borrowed or printed dollars for government stimulus packages and outright handouts, will accelerate inflation and/or end up in hyper inflation. This will lead to rising hunger as it takes more dollars to buy the necessities of life. Rising hunger will trigger more government intervention and the requirement for more taxes. Taxes will rise accordingly. More banks will fail. A deep depression could be just around the corner.

In some of these occurrences, the government will declare martial law and they will suspend constitutional protections, like Habeas Corpus, as did President Lincoln during the Civil War.

All these things will come to pass in one form or another, because “We The People” have allowed government to become all powerful and corrupt and this corruption has infected a large percentage of the American population. Should we not return to the principles of our constitution, should we not re-claim our morality, and soon, as a country and as a free society we are doomed to fail and ultimate disintegration. If were trying to fail, we are doing an excellent job.

In spite of these dire predictions, there is still time to save America, if only the millions of Americans who cherish freedom, will rise up individually and collectively and get involved in the hard work of preserving, protecting and defending our Constitution and giving aid and comfort to those organizations that are working valiantly on their behalf.

The script above that we found posted on the Intertubes does not include this bit of narration, starting at 08:04, near the end of the video:

If you want to prevent a civil war, then you had better rise up now and send a clear message to the president and the U.S. Congress. Tell them you are giving them fair warning. Tell them: “We the people of the United States and the separate states will declare independence from the U.S. government under the Ninth and Tenth amendments of the U.S. Constitution if the madness in Washington, D.C., doesn’t stop now.

Tell them no to amnesty for illegal aliens, no to national health care, no to gun control or gun-control treaties, no to food control legislation and no to cap and trade lunacy.

And tell them no to the Clean Water Restoration Act, no to any more environmental insanity, no to stimulus and bailout bills, no to more Federal Reserve power, no to the Real ID or PASS act and no to closing Guantanamo Bay.

Tell them we are not pawns or subjects of their highnesses and that we are free Americans and we fully intend to stay that way.

Tell them that these are the high stakes they are toying with, and if they continue on the path they tread, they will unleash chaos in America that will tear out it’s very heart.

Tell them that free Americans mean business. And tell them in no uncertain terms — and you had better tell them by the millions.

The right-winger’s favorite author, Ayn Rand, was an atheist as well. Of course, 98% of them aren’t aware of that fact – or probably even know what the word “atheist” means. They clearly have no idea what “socialist” means…..

  2. Sam an IDIOT September 14, 2009 @ 9:37 am

UM..what the hell does AYN RAND have to do with this? Oh because she is an atheist? lol Let me give you a clue SAM SIMPLE..here is the difference between the left and the right…the right believes on a higher power, but we also believe it is your right to NOT BELIEVE, as you are answerable for your own actions..so what if he is an atheist? Its his right to choose…which is the fundamental underpinning of this whole movement. The Left wants to eliminate the options and right to choose our healthcare…I may not necessarily agree with peoples choices , but I will defend their right to choose those choices unfettered from Government Interference.

YOU, SAM have the right to choose to have your healthcare overtaken by the gov’t, I may disagree but I will fight for your right to BE ABLE TO CHOOSE and believe what you wish. Once one group of people begin trying to strip away a nations citizens of their right to be heard, and free choice and free will, then it is time to stand up and fight. If this thing devolves into violence it will be sad and uncivilized, but the left embraces not being civilized (i.e. the massive trash left after Obama’s Inauguration by the people who want to “save the planet” vs how clean the patriots left it on 9/12..wonder who really cares the most..not just in words but in deeds…huh? lol)

Its time for the “divide and conquer” politics to end and the government to “listen” to their people….its time for the people to stand up and discipline their government, as its BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE. Its time for the race baiting to stop…because if nothing else the “Law of Unintended Consequences” is going to come back and bite you…if you scream “racism” enough anytime there isnt truly racism, then you demean what it represents to the point that if a person who might actually become a victiim of racism will be ignored because of the “cry wolf” nature of the left now using that term..THINK ABOUT IT….If you truly wish to stamp out what little racism thats left, then dont abuse the term..hold it sacred…otherwise you diminish completely what it stands for. Period…Good Luck America!

I’m not quite sure what to make of the phrase, “Godless, atheist.” That goes without saying. I am an atheist, thus godless. I am also “Christ-denying” but that neither makes me an atheist nor godless. While I appreciate you providing this information about this vile character, the fact that he is an atheist only goes to the issue that the wingnuts do not know who they are following. My confusion is with the terminology used in this piece.

Sam an Idiot: Ayn Rand is part of the story because Ron Ewart is one of her misguided followers. But you are just flat wrong that those on the right bow to a higher power. Ron Ewart was a principal sponsor of Glenn Beck’s Tea Bagger march yesterday, and he is an atheist. And the fact that the Tea Baggers didn’t utter a peep when a white president rammed bills through the GOP Congress that spent billions and billions billions on war supplementals, the prescription drug plan and on and on without paying for any of it is proof that the Tea Bagger movement is about nothing but racism.

Stephen – The phrases “godless atheist” and “Christ denier” are humorous goads at the Christianist Tea Baggers that mimic the sort of terminology they use.

Not to mention that not one of these fools had a problem with the Patriot Act. If it’s Bush, sure, you can see what library books I’ve checked out and search my house when I’m not home. But if it’s Obama, hey we can read totalitarianism into a speech asking school children to work hard and go to college.

If all those unhealthy and obese white lard buckets and their offsprinh dressed in camo white and blue are the makings of a rand revolution in the guise of chri$tian values. with athiest ayn randite sponser and a porker convert mormon like beck as a leader, the USA has nothing to worry about, just throw them a hamburger or a twinkie, they’ll settle down and go check their blood sugar.. i am sure the rest of the world was and is amazed and amused at that 9-12 health protest and the pathetic forms of humanity that graced the movement..after the event the picket signs where thrown everywhere, and pepsi cans fast food wrappers littered the washington mall.. these swine are not very enviromentally friendly.. and obviously cannot see that obama is a capitolist pig working for corporations not a marxist or nazi or socialist..though social medicine is a good practice in large populated societies.. but large obese people take far more healthcare and resources than healthy people.wash your hands children…

I find it fascinating to read, “Pensito Review reserves the right to eliminate spam, hate speech, personal attacks, abusive language and other objectionable material,” below the comment dialoge box since “hate speech, personal attacks, abusive language and other objectionable material is the essence of the article itself. The assertion that the right had no problem with Bush is utterly false. A lie.
We have opposed socialism, including that of Bush, from the beginning. That is the nature of the Right. We are for freedom and opposed to government control of the economy. We believe government’s proper role is to make theft, fraud and assault illegal and to punish law breakers. The Left wants government controlling more, eventually everything.
Ascribing our opposition to a leftist President with a leftist agenda to “racism” is unconscioinable. It is a lie. It is, itself, race baiting. This website is a race-baiting bastion of leftist hate speech.

    Doug,

It is patently false that Republicans and conservatives stood up to the Bush-Cheney machine. We were all paying very close attention during the whole eight years, and that simply didn’t happen.

If conservatives were truly as moral and patriotic as they claim to be, they would have sent their leaders to the White House to tell Bush and Cheney to resign or face impeachment — as the GOP leadership did to Nixon during the Watergate investigations. Bush and Cheney brought the United States to its knees, but what the nation heard from their running dogs on the right was … crickets.

You guys are wasting your time with these desperate attempts to rewrite the history of the Bush era. That book has already been written and you are all complicit in their assault from within on America.

And speaking of rewriting history, the actual record of St. Ronnie’s terms in office would get him drummed out of the GOP today:

A sober review of Reagan’s presidency doesn’t yield the seamlessly conservative record being peddled today. Federal government expanded on his watch. The conservative desire to outlaw abortion was never seriously pursued. Reagan broke with the hardliners in his administration and compromised with the Soviets on arms control. His assault on entitlements never materialized; instead he saved Social Security in 1983. And he repeatedly ignored the fundamental conservative dogma that taxes should never be raised…

One year after his massive tax cut, Reagan agreed to a tax increase to reduce the deficit that restored fully one-third of the previous year’s reduction. (In a bizarre bit of self-deception, Reagan, who never came to terms with this episode of ideological apostasy, persuaded himself that the three-year, $100 billion tax hike–the largest since World War II–was actually “tax reform” that closed loopholes in his earlier cut and therefore didn’t count as raising taxes.)

Faced with looming deficits, Reagan raised taxes again in 1983 with a gasoline tax and once more in 1984, this time by $50 billion over three years, mainly through closing tax loopholes for business. Despite the fact that such increases were anathema to conservatives–and probably cost Reagan’s successor, George H.W. Bush, reelection–Reagan raised taxes a grand total of four times just between 1982-84…

Reagan continued these “modest rollbacks” in his second term. The historic Tax Reform Act of 1986, though it achieved the supply side goal of lowering individual income tax rates, was a startlingly progressive reform. The plan imposed the largest corporate tax increase in history–an act utterly unimaginable for any conservative to support today. Just two years after declaring, “there is no justification” for taxing corporate income, Reagan raised corporate taxes by $120 billion over five years and closed corporate tax loopholes worth about $300 billion over that same period. In addition to broadening the tax base, the plan increased standard deductions and personal exemptions to the point that no family with an income below the poverty line would have to pay federal income tax. Even at the time, conservatives within Reagan’s administration were aghast. According to Wall Street Journal reporters Jeffrey Birnbaum and Alan Murray, whose book Showdown at Gucci Gulch chronicles the 1986 measure, “the conservative president’s support for an effort once considered the bastion of liberals carried tremendous symbolic significance.”

It’s not just the Reagan legacy that fake — the conservative movement is built entirely on a big lie. Conservatives are just shills for corporate interests — although most are too dim-witted to know they’re being manipulated. Conservatives talk a good game about patriotism and fiscal responsibility, but they hate governing and are inept at it — because what they really want is power. And when they get power, as they did in 2000 when they controlled the White House, the Congress and the Judiciary, what they do is hand the goods and treasure of the United States over to their corporate masters.

That’s the record. You can talk around it all you want, but those of us who ignore what conservatives say but instead watch what they do know the truth.

Your talking points about liberals are just nonsense. Go regurg them on Free Republic or some other right wing site, where, by the way, they censor comments simply because they don’t agree with the writer’s opinion. Fascist, much?

    “Madison” wrote:

The following article, one of numerous on http://www.TheReaganWing.com, that do the same thing, proves the above statement to be exactly what I claimed, a lie:
    http://thereaganwing.wordpress.com/2008/01/09/best-of-07-series-dana-carvey-found/
In it we both seriously criticize and mercilessly ridicule the Bush Administration.
In our “about us” page, posted since our founding in 1984, we made this contrast with Reagan:
“For eight years I had kept pinching myself that a real conservative actually was President of the United States. For there was never any question he was genuine. His successors as Republican Party Presidential nominees, the winners, the losers, – all of them, in fact, carried conservative themes (like luggage), but mixed them on the same loading platform among packages stuffed with Liberalism Lite (less filling, sounds great). When the Bushes said “kinder,” “gentler,” and “compassionate” what they actually meant, it is now clear, was “very expensive” and “seriously expanding the role of government.” And Bob Dole campaigned on an unmistakable erosion of the Tenth Amendment as his greatest achievement. Reagan was the opposite. Even when he erred in policy, we could trust his intentions. In 1982, He agreed with the Democrat Congress to raise taxes, but only because he had acquired their promise to make $3 of spending cuts for every $1 of tax increase. That he believed them is testimony to an optimism and faith in the good will of Americans that far exceeds my own. Of course he never got one penny of their promise.”
I could fill many pages with specific refutations of the leftist dogma that the Bush admin. “got no opposition” from actual conservatives. But what would it matter? The truth is obviously of no concern, here.

  11. Madison May 20, 2010 @ 9:21 pm

As great as I’m sure you are, your influence in the Republican Party is, respectfully, less than zero. I stand by my statement that no Republicans with stature or even skin in the game ever called on Bush and Cheney to resign for the good of the party.
