A new poll from the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) finds that a significant majority of physicians nationwide favor including a government-provided medical insurance option, as proposed by Pres. Obama and congressional Democrats:
A total of 62.9 percent of physicians who participated in the survey … said they favored a public option, or government insurance plan, against 27.3 percent backing a private system alone.
Another 9.6 percent favored a completely government-owned health care coverage system.
“It’s clear that the majority of US physicians support both public and private options to expand coverage,” NEJM said, noting that between 52 and 69 percent of Americans favor a supplemental public option.
The survey found that even 58.9 percent of Southern doctors want reforms to include a public option.
The poll also found that 58.3 percent of doctors are in favor of expanding Medicare to people as young as 55 years old.

Now wait a minute, the repubs have said many times that even doctors do not want a public option. What gives here, certainly the repubs would not lie regarding this would they?
The repubs have lied so much I would not believe a single word they say anymore. Only dummies would be against something that would help them, says alot about the repubs mentality and smarts huh!!!!
Most doctors hate to see their patients die due to lack of funds for treatment.
Not shocking.
I think most doctors would prefer a single-payer system, but that is unmentionable.
This fails to mention that those 63% prefer both private and government plans!!!! I was reading the other articles which included a mix plan, but this one does not include that.
