Tea Baggers Call for Sponsor Boycott of ‘Hardball’ – Please Support These MSNBC Sponsors

First, speaking on behalf of Chris Matthews — which I do not — thanks to the tea baggers calling for a sponsor boycott for all the free publicity for his documentary. I’m pretty sure the film, “Rise of the New Right,” would have been relegated to the remainder bin had they not raised its profile this way.

If they actually watched the piece then, good golly, are these authoritarian wing nuts ever thin-skinned. There is nothing inflammatory in it. In fact, there’s hardly anything new there that regular watchers of legitimate cable news haven’t seen.

My guess is that the people who are so incensed about it relegate their information consumption to Republican propaganda on Fox News, where tea baggery is treated with respect the anti-establishment mob phenomenon has not earned and does not deserve.

I’m no fan of Matthews, who, like Dick Morris and Ann Coulter, owes his broadcast career to his spittle-spewing Clinton hatred in the 1990s. My only quibble with his documentary is with the title. There’s nothing “new” about these tired old Bush lovers. They’ve been around years.

We need to show up to Tea Party Protest and get in their faces! Who are they to protest?

People this happened before and we know how it ends. Can we really just get along?

Go say hello to each other and find out what you have in common. Don’t support the crap either side is reporting. Find out for yourself don’t trust bloggers / media.

The tea partiers should be extremely satisfied. They now have the mainstream exposure they have been craving since Dick Armey, the Koch Brothers, and other corporatists developed the “grassroots” idea of ginning up opposition to anything coming out of the Obama White House. Matthews’ program portrayed them as they really are, and they don’t like it. Too bad. When you lie down with a kennel of corporate dogs, get used to promote their purposes, and end up looking like the manipulated tools that you are, you have to take responsibility for your words and actions. That’s what grownups who really believe in personal responsibility do. Boycott away! I will continue to patronize the businesses on the list.

Thomaspain—I only wish it were that easy, but it’s almost impossible for realists, independent thinkers, and rational people to have a civil conversation with people whose idea of governing is based on ideology. Sometimes the reality vs. fantasy divide is simply too wide to breech.

I will continue to buy from these sponsors. The Tea Buggers are nothing but ignorant, sore losers, who still can’t believe that a MAJORITY of Americans sent a MAJORITY of republinut congressmen, and president/vice president packing from power in Washington. Then on top of that, a MAJORITY of American citizens ELECTED a black President to the White House. The Tea Buggers are a minority, they do not represent the ideologies of the majority of Americans. They ARE NOT a force to be concerned about, because everytime one of them opens his/her mouth, something off the wall or just plain stupid comes out. Look at pauly jr., bachman, palin, angle and many others. They will NEVER win, aligning themselves with the Tea Buggers!!
