He keeps yammering that his network has higher ratings. Now, in terms of pure Nielson numbers that may be true but there is a caveat that should go with that stat. Namely, that Fox network, in it's beginings purchased LOCAL TV stations and is therefore available to ALL watchers evenif all they have is basic reception cable. MSNBC on the other hand MUST be part of a higher priced package and therefore may NOT be available to all watchers. In short, FOX has a decided advantage in ratings because they have a larger potential viewer pool, not because the crap they offer has either inherent truth or widespread support.
