Raw Deal: 28 Tea Party Caucus Members Voted Against Debt Ceiling Bill

As has been noted here before, one of the tea partyists’ sacred campaign pledges — along with not raising taxes or voting for debt ceiling increases — was that they would “fight efforts to use a national crisis for political gain.”

But that was 2010. In 2011, they broke that pledge — big time — when they created a bogus national crisis over raising the debt ceiling, despite the fact that the ceiling had to be raised in order to borrow the funds to cover the billions in new spending in the budget they voted for.

By choosing to negotiate with them, and then by giving into their demands over and over, Pres. Obama enabled the tea baggers’ extortion politics. In doing so, he handed them a big political win, in the short term at least.

That did not stop them from turning the weeks of negotiations into one long temper tantrum. And even after all that, even after they cowed the president of the United States into giving into their demands and agreeing to their Raw Deal, 28 tea partyists voted “no” against the final bill in the House yesterday:

Here’s a list of the economic terrorists who held the U.S. economy hostage and then voted against taking the ransom they had extorted from the American people because it wasn’t enough:

  • Todd Akin, R-Mo.
  • Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.
  • Rob Bishop, R-Utah
  • Paul Broun, R-Ga.
  • Dan Burton, R-Ind.
  • Jeff Duncan, R-S.C.
  • John Fleming, R-La.
  • Trent Franks, R-Ariz.
  • Phil Gingrey, R-Ga.
  • Louie Gohmert, R-Tex.
  • Tom Graves, R-Ga.
  • Ralph Hall, R-Tex.
  • Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo.
  • Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan.
  • Steve King, R-Iowa
  • Doug Lamborn, R-Co.
  • Tom McClintock, R-Ca.
  • Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C.
  • Randy Neugebauer, R-Tex.
  • Steve Pearce, R-NM
  • Ted Poe, R-Tex.
  • Denny Rehberg, R-Mon.
  • Dennis Ross, R-Fla.
  • Steve Scalise, R-La.
  • Cliff Stearns, R-Fla.
  • Joe Walsh, R-Ill.
  • Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga.
  • Joe Wilson, R-SC

You forgot to add Ron Paul to that list, but whatever.

That list that you promote are American Heroes. They want our dollar to retain it’s value as much as possible, and to let the dollar fall to it’s proper place is the best way to accomplish that.

    Ron Paul 2012!

Shows what you know. Ron Paul is not a member of the Tea Bagger Caucus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_Caucus. Ron Paul is just another Big Government conservative who advocates giving law enforcement bureaucrats control over what American women can and cannot do with their uteruses.

And these tea baggers are not heroes. They are lapdogs for multinational corporate interests, and, like their corporate sponsors, they are traitors who want America to fail. They should be run out of office and very likely will be next year.

What utter nonsense. If you believe anything written here by Jon Ponder please contact me, I have a beautiful bridge that spans the Hudson river that I can sell you right from my computer.

Vicious, ignorant, and inane all in the space of a few lines.

Darrell – Why not set the record straight right here? Please feel free to refute my factual assertions with citations that prove me wrong. However, don’t bother providing citations from Republican propaganda outlets like Fox News and AM radio.
