We Deserve Leaders with the Courage to Change Gun Laws

This time our response must consist of more than regret, sorrow, and condolence. The children of Sandy Hook Elementary School and all victims of gun violence deserve leaders who have the courage to participate in a meaningful discussion about our gun laws — and how they can be reformed and better enforced to prevent gun violence and death in America. This can no longer wait.

I agree wholeheartedly! We don’t have leaders with courage to pass sensible gun laws. There is no reason for anyone other than military and police personnel to own assault weapons. We might require gun owners to buy insurance, limit the amounts of ammunition that can be bought in a year, or pass strict rules on guns in a school zone similar to the laws against drug use. These are all sensible measures that could make an impact and not infringe on any second amendment claims.
