New Study Finds 49,000 Floridians Prevented from Voting in Presidential Election

Number of registered Florida voters who were prevented from voting in the 2012 election by new laws and restrictions put in place by Gov. Rick Scott and Florida Republicans, according to a study by Theodore Allen of Ohio State University. Allen found that 19,000 of those would have voted for Mitt Romney, while the balance would have backed Barack Obama, and that a high proportion of those prevented from voting were black or Hispanic.
