You’re Paying 89 Cents a Month on Your Cable Bill for Fox News, Whether You Want It or Not

89 Cents

The amount Fox News requires cable subscribers to pay for its service every month whether they want it or not, according to Pew Research. Fox “now claims one of the highest average rates per subscriber. Only six non-premium cable channels command higher fees than Fox. I’m happy to say I don’t pay Fox News a dime. I’m fortunate enough to have Verizon FiOS in my area, and they offer a “Select HD” package that not only excludes Fox News, it also excludes all sports channels, so I’m also not paying a dime to Disney for eight ESPN channels that I’ll never watch. If you must be a cable TV subscriber (working on making THAT go away, too — if I can just find an OTT way to get HGTV for my wife) I can recommend this option highly.
