Schultz Viewed More Unfavorably than Other Candidates


A new Change Research (D) survey finds former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is less known to the electorate than other declared and potential presidential candidates with 56% having never heard of him or don’t have an opinion. Among those who have an opinion, just 4% view him favorably compared to 40% unfavorably?—?a 10:1 unfavorable to favorable ratio, far higher than any other candidate tested. Schultz is viewed unfavorably by Democrats (50% unfavorable? to ?4% favorable), Republicans (43% unfavorable? to ?4% favorable), and Independents (31% unfavorable? to 4% favorable).


Trump’s Popularity has Risen Since Election


Of voters now have a very favorable or somewhat favorable opinion of the president-elect. Twelve percent have a somewhat unfavorable opinion and 34% have a very unfavorable opinion of him, according to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll of registered voters. “Trump’s favorability has grown 9 points, 37% to 46%, compared to a Morning Consult poll right before the election — while his unfavorability has dropped 15 points, from 61% to 46%.”


Hillary Clinton More Disliked than Ever


Of Americans have an unfavorable impression of Hillary Clinton,while 41% have a favorable one, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. “That’s the worst image Clinton has had in her quarter-century in national public life. Her previous low favorable rating this year was in July, when it was 42 percent, lower than any mark in historical Post-ABC polls except a few points in the 1990s when a large share of the public had no opinion of her. Her previous high for unfavorable views was in June, when 55 percent disliked Clinton.”
