44 Percent of Republicans Say Trump Repealed Obamacare


A new Economist/YouGov poll finds that 31% of American adults believe that President Trump has successfully repealed Obamacare. Of those who identify as Republican voters, 44% say that Trump has repealed Obamacare.

“Americans in states that Donald Trump carried in his march to the White House account for more than 4 in 5 of those signed up for coverage under the health care law the president still wants to take down,” ABC News reports.“An Associated Press analysis of new figures from the government found that 7.3 million of the 8.8 million consumers signed up so far for next year come from states Trump won in the 2016 presidential election. The four states with the highest number of sign-ups — Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Georgia, accounting for nearly 3.9 million customers — were all Trump states.”


More Signing Up for Obamacare

Sam Baker: “Nearly 1.5 million people have signed up for coverage through HealthCare.gov in the first two weeks of this year’s open enrollment period — up from just over 1 million at the same point in the last enrollment window. Those results are stronger than many experts anticipated, in light of the Trump administration’s cuts to enrollment outreach.”


More than 600,000 Sign Up for Obamacare in Four Days


More than 600,000 people selected Obamacare plans for 2018 from Nov. 1 to Nov. 4 in the 39 states that use the HealthCare.gov eligibility and enrollment platform, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said Thursday. New customers totaled 137,322 while 464,140 renewed coverage, reports Bloomberg.

Despite Donald’s Attempted Sabotage, ObamaCare Signups Set New Record

A record number of people signed up for ObamaCare in the first few days of open enrollment this year compared to the same period in previous years, several sources close to the process told The Hill.

The surge in sign-ups, which was confirmed by an administration official, comes despite fears from Democrats that enrollment would fall off due to the Trump administration’s cutbacks in outreach and advertising.

The Kaiser Health Tracking Poll finds that more Americans have an unfavorable view of the GOP health care plan than a favorable one, 55% to 31%. For comparison, the Affordable Care Act has mostly favorable views, 49% to 29%.


Dent Won’t Support Trumpcare Retry

“Based on what I’ve read, it does not change my position. I was a no, and I remain a no.”

— Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA), leader of the centrist Tuesday Group, told the Washington Examiner that he still opposes the House Republican healthcare repeal bill, saying that a proposed compromise does not address his key concerns.


Americans Want Trump to Fix Obamacare


A new ABC News-Washington Post poll finds just 37% of Americans say Obamacare should be repealed and replaced; 61% say it should be kept and fixed instead. Even more broadly, the public by 79% to 13% says Trump should seek to make the current law work as well as possible, not to make it fail as soon as possible, a strategy he’s suggested.
