Trump Would Take Dirt on Opponents from a Foreign Entity

“I think you might want to listen. There’s nothing wrong with listening. It’s not an interference, they have information. I think I’d take it. If I thought there was something wrong I’d go maybe to the FBI. If I thought there was something wrong.”

— President Trump, telling ABC News that he wouldn’t commit to calling the FBI if a foreign power offered damaging information on a political opponent. When told FBI Director Christopher Wray said campaigns should contact the bureau if contacted by a foreign entity, Trump said: “The FBI director is wrong.”

Mitch McConnell’s Evil Deeds Cannot Be Undone

“Everything else changes. What can’t be undone is a lifetime appointment… That’s the most important thing we’ve done in the country, which cannot be undone.”

— Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), quoted by the Washington Post, on confirming conservative judges.

Georgia Governor Candidate Keeping 53,000 from Voting

“The Georgia NAACP is preparing to sue Secretary of State Brian Kemp, the Republican nominee for governor, in response to a report that Kemp’s office has put on hold tens of thousands of voter registration applications, most of them from African-Americans, ahead of the election,” Politico reports. “The injunction would seek to reopen voter registration in Georgia to ensure that 53,000 registrants on hold in Kemp’s office… would be allowed to register for the upcoming election.”

Senate Republicans Hacked House Republicans for Donors

“Staffers for Senate Republicans’ campaign arm seized information on more than 200,000 donors from the House GOP campaign committee over several months this year by breaking into its computer system,” Politico reports.

GOP Governors Launch ‘Fake News’ Site

“The Republican Governors Association has quietly launched an online publication that looks like a media outlet and is branded as such on social media. The Free Telegraph blares headlines about the virtues of GOP governors, while framing Democrats negatively. It asks readers to sign up for breaking news alerts. It launched in the summer bearing no acknowledgement that it was a product of an official party committee whose sole purpose is to get more Republicans elected. … Only after the Associated Press inquired about the site last week was a disclosure added to The Free Telegraph’s pages identifying the publication’s partisan source.”

North Carolina Law Might Suppress Presidential Votes

Number of votes that “might not be counted in this year’s Nov. 8 presidential election if a federal appeals court upholds the 2013 law,” a Reuters review of Republican-backed changes to North Carolina’s voting rules finds. “Besides banning voters from voting outside their assigned precinct on Election Day, the law also prevents them from registering the same day they vote during the early voting period.”

Whatever the Game, Republicans Rigged It

The game is rigged, and the Republicans rigged it.

— Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), quoted by the Washington Post.

Poetic Justice

Vote Your Stomach!

Like cruel, mean-hearted medieval trolls,
The Republicans voted to cut the food stamp rolls.
They’re hoping 4 million voters
Who happen to to be eaters
Will simply be too weak to vote in the 2014 polls.

UPDATED: Obama Supporters, Beware of Purported Anti-Romney, Anti-Mormon Video, ‘Who’s the Boss?’

Update and Correction: I have been in touch with a producer of the video this afternoon and have learned that my suspicions about the motives behind it were unfounded. He told me he is a supporter of Pres. Obama.

He also told me, via email, “Really, my biggest desire is that it gets people discussing the issue — and whether it’s a fair question and whether it needs to be asked. Just having the issue discussed and having daylight shined on it is a victory…”

I have posted the YouTube video here now, in case you did not see it before.
