A Tale of Two Lifestyles

As federal workers borrow from their kids, max out their credit cards, sign up as dog sitters, and even write paid online makeup reviews, federal elected officials are enjoying a very different lifestyle.

Don’t look into the eyes
Florida’s new senator, Rick Scott, is set to be feted tonight by the New Republican PAC at an event they’re calling the “Sunshine Ball” at the ritzy Andrew E. Mellon auditorium in the heart of D.C.

Donors/clients/customers/johns who attend at the “platinum level” will pay $100,000 but in return they’ll get ten tickets plus a photo opportunity, presumably with Voldemort himself.*

Not only that, but attendees will enjoy the rarefied atmosphere of the Mellon Auditorium. A D.C. venue review site describes the circa-1934 building’s, “dramatic roman doric columns, marble floors inlaid with gold, and spectacular auditorium standing more than 60 feet in height and embellished with limestone pilasters, gilded relief carvings, and polished oak where colossal luminaries, made of brass and burnished aluminum, are suspended from the ceiling.”

Floridas Loses $385 Million a Year by Not Restoring Voting Rights to Felons

$385 million

Seven years after Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet voted to end the state policy that automatically restored the civil rights of nonviolent offenders after they complete their sentences, a price tag has emerged, according to the Miami Herald. Florida lost an estimated $385 million a year in economic impact, spent millions on court and prison costs, had 3,500 more offenders return to prison, and lost the opportunity to create about 3,800 new jobs.

GOP Fl. Gov Rick Scott Asked What to Do to Prevent School Shootings – Answer: “Pray”

Time Magazine: “Scott who is strongly considering a Senate run to challenge Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson, is like Rubio, a favorite among the NRA, who noted in 2014 that he had signed ‘more pro-gun bills into law — in one term — than any other Governor in Florida history.’ Nelson and Scott have contrasting ratings from the NRA: Nelson has an F and Scott has an A+.”

A Wall Wouldn’t Help

What I want is a secure border, whether it’s a wall or a fence, however you do it. I want to to know who’s coming into our country because I don’t want another Pulse attack.”

— Gov. Rick Scott (GOP/Tea-Fla.), commenting on how incoming Pres. Donald Trump should handle border security. Scott, whose state experienced the country’s deadliest mass shooting and hate crime at Pulse Nightclub, is apparently unaware that the shooter, 29-year-old Omar Mateen, was an American born in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Nation’s Worst Governor Targeted by Anonymous

We wish Anonymous well, especially since Rick Scott’s future looks so bright. He’s being mentioned for the U.S. Senate and as Trump’s vice president.

If you live in Florida, you’d be forgiven for wondering what took Anonymous so long. The hactivist group recently announced war on Gov. Rick Scott (GOP/Tea), and is calling for his impeachment.

The video hits some of Scott’s sins, but leaves out many. That’s because of the sheer number of them.

Will We Fall in Love With Hillary in Time?

hillarysite
It’s a bad sign that the only way into Clinton’s campaign site is with a log in. If you’re on the fence about the candidate and just want more information, how likely are you to register with her site? I’m on her side, and I don’t even want to register for her site. This “Supporters Only” stance won’t turn out the vote.
Hating their guy (or gal) never makes up for not loving ours

If you’re fired up at the prospect of Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president and what it means for Democrats, you’ll want to skip this post. I don’t want to ruin your day with something none of us can do anything about. It’s not as if we can conjure up another Barack Obama or John F. Kennedy or even an Angela Merkel by closing our eyes and wishing.

We’re stuck with HRC, and here’s why I feel a sense of impending doom for our team:

No one loves Hillary.

Poetic Justice

Foul Weather Words

In Florida we believe that bad words can be harming,
So we’re extra careful when sentences we are forming.
Phrases must be rearranged
If they would include “climate change,”
And we would never ever use a term like “global warming.”

Florida Gov. Rick Scott Shoots a Blank with Gun Making Incentive

pistolDon’t expect FOX News to cover this story since it doesn’t contain sexy words like, “Solyndra” and “Obama.”

But Gov. Rick Scott (R/Tea) shot himself in the foot and might have to bite the bullet over the wasted $1.6 million paid to gun manufacturer Colt to bring jobs to Central Florida. The skilled manufacturing jobs, touted to earn an average $45,000 each, were promised and paid for in 2011. As of 2015, there are no jobs.
