Cummings: Bannon Is a White Supremicist

“In a way he would be pleased to have seen the first African-American elected president, to have seen many doors opened for people like me and others who now have opportunities that would not have had them back then. But at the same time, when we see a guy like Bannon, who is, as far as I’m concerned, a white supremacist-type person, sitting in the White House — sitting in the White House — and I’m paying his salary, I think he would be very disappointed.”

— Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), who said this morning that Martin Luther King, Jr. “would be very disappointed” by the political realities of 2017 and especially by the presence of Steve Bannon — who he described as a “white supremacist-type” — in the White House, Politico reports.

American Nazi Party Backs Trump

I’m gonna project, that I believe that Trump is going to win the election this November… I think it’s gonna surprise the enemy, because, I think that they feel that the white working class, especially the male portion of the working class, and with him his female counterparts have basically thrown in the towel. Given up hope of any politician again standing up for their interests.

— The chairman of the American Nazi Party, Rocky Suhayda, declaring on his radio program last month that a Donald Trump victory would present “a great opportunity for white nationalists to build pro-white coalitions,” BuzzFeed reports.

Poetic Justice

They Looked Jewish

What’s an angry white supremacist to do?
They don’t make ’em wear stars like they used to.
So it’s prudent to inquire
Before you open fire
Whether your intended targets indeed are Jews.

Dunces of Confederacy

Senator Rand Paul is always good for a laugh,
But hiring a white supremacist was a gaff.
Paul’s a fervent libertarian,
And quite the contrarian,
But even he can’t have a “Southern Avenger” on staff.

Far White Right

Some say his candidacy would be a fluke.
Others say the prospect makes them puke.
But if he runs, he’ll attract
Folks who hate folks who are black —
Talking ’bout that “civil rights activist,” David Duke.
